Guest fluffcat1 Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 (edited) http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInfo.a...3&GroupID=0 This is the rebadged for Aldi Sagem mys7 made by Mitac IIRC, with the Intel X scale 200mhx processor ( as used in the Voq). This is the navigation package - cradle, receiver, software AND smartphone for ton fifty plus delivery! It's a refurb but has 12 months warranty. Selling on ebay for about £180 - £200 last I checked. I had heard it couldn't track satellites too well but I'm going to pick one up next week when they're back in stock. Cheaper than tomtom 5.... Richard Edited October 8, 2006 by fluffcat1
Guest RufusA Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 FWIW Medion sell the same phone direct from their site. This is a similar price £149 + delivery but AFAIK it's brand new (rather than refurbed), and appears to be in stock: https://www.medionshop.co.uk The follow link on left to Sat Nav Systems (Handheld). The smartphone is the 3rd item on the list. HTH - Rufus.

Might just buy one - been waiting for microdirect to get decent stock levels - each time they email me they're in, by the time I pop down they're all gone! Plus the medionshop ones aren't refurbs - I've heard tales that satellite acquisition isn't so hot with these units.... Richard
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Look boys, you made the front page :) P
Guest fluffcat1 Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Look boys, you made the front page :D P Infamy, infamy, you've all got it in for me......or something :) What with my voda v1240 arriving tomorrow can I really justify another smartphone? Hell yeah! - Because I don't have tomtom ( alpine tv nav system in the car) and I, er, might get lost when going walking somewhere in that there london....or summat. I'll work on it a bit more before I run it past the missus :) Richard
Guest Alex_le_brit Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Hmm so if this is really a Sagem MyS7 does this mean at last I can afford to wifi my phone?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 I want one but I know I can not affod it atm :)
Guest Pondrew Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Another plus point for this model of Smartphone is that it boasts an 8way joystick :)
Guest 111hhh111 Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 Stupid question, but can this phone run tomtom with the internal gps module?
Guest MadStu Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 Stupid question, but can this phone run tomtom with the internal gps module? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi, The GPS module isn't internal, but plugs onto a rather bulky hands free car kit. Stu ;)

Guest Paul (MVP) Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 If only it was WM5... P
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 I still remember playing with the Mio version of this device back at the MoDaCo Birmingham meet. Liked the device then.
Guest fluffcat1 Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 If only it was WM5... P Asking a bit much for a device that dates from 2004 methinks :) Could it's ARM PXA262 run it? IIRC it's only got 32mb ram and 32mb rom. Maybe if the SD card was utilised as rom like some other unofficial smartphone upgrade paths? :( Still, ordered one anyway to see if I get one that works this time. Notorious for issues with the GPS... Richard
