Acc player

hey i am looking for a player for spv that can play ACC formated songs because acc is a clear format and a small format... so can any one help me..

heya i think there is a solution allthough i dont have any aac files on my hardrive to test it out with firstly install tcpmp onto your phone then install this plugin

tcpmp ok thats the player. Type tht into google and download it and install it on ure phone and then install the link i gave you onto the phone as well.

wen i try installing the player it says

TCMP the core pocket media playe.CAB failed to install on your device because the installation file is not intended fo this device..

Hi

I think you'll find this is an Pocket PC based program. I get an error message upon trying to install. I then explored the program on my pc and it states for pocket pc not SPV.

Thanks anyway. I'm more a .aac purveyor and i will search for a suitable codec.

Ah well i'll eat humble pie! I didn't notice the seperate zip file within the zip file! I found the necessary .cab sp installer,and it installed no probs! Thanks again.

he he too true, orange would have mayed so much more money if it were advertised as "The true film phone with added full screen video player"

thats one of the reasons my friend bought hers, after i told her she could watch films full screen she ran straight to the orange shop

Well, except that it could not detect any *.wmv or *.asf files, but TCPMP's website says that it can play those files, and I use an SPV-E100,with Windows Mobile 2002. Do I have to download an additional plug-in? Please help me!

yes you do, there are a list of plugins on there website with the player, and i think one of them supports wmv, im not sure about asf though

Not exactly sure what version of plugins and installer you need, it's dependant on what version of player you have. My guess would be the .cab version. Thats what i used but i have the SPV C550.

Hey mini-man after your help and advice i finally settled on Vorbis .ogg encoding! :idea:

I noticed that .aac by comparison was quite pitiful in performance! 128kbps .aac was not as good as 96kbps with .ogg. Thanks for your help anyway mate!

Obviously that can vary but its roughly 2mb to 3mb per track (assuming on 3/4 minute song.)

As a guide i had The Doors LA Woman (7mins 52s) on mp3 at 192kbps and that was approx, a whopping 11mb but now settles at 5.2mb! The difference in quality is just astounding and at half the size too!

I tried wma for a while but whilst the sound was very good at 128kbps the file size just put me off. I've always felt mp3 is an overrated method to encode so i tried .aac and initially was happy with the results but felt the music was quite dull.

I researched and read that Vorbis .ogg was a very good contender to .aac but with much better depth of sound. Well done Micro Mart! I won't be looking back now!

Have you toyed with other compression options or are you happy with .wma?

yeh i have tried alot of them, and it was definetly wma or ogg. but i prefered the wmp layout and library so i went for wma and just used tcpmp for videos. I found the quality still very good at 96kbps (wma) and that a 3 minute song is like 2mb.

I may try the odd tune using .wma 96kbps and check for comparison. File size seems the same tho really. It took me an absolute age to encode 80 odd tracks into ogg tho! lol

I love this guy. Imagine, I have been looking for this aac plugin for my tcpmp for almost a day and He's the only one who was able to give this info. More power you gracious man!!! I love ya!!!

One more thing, I am using wm5 xdaII himalaya. So, for those who wants to fully use tcpmp for mpeg4 acc file, try installing the above plug-in. I am now able to watch cars!

Please, before you complain like those of the above (very ungrateful), try to match the available plug ins one at a time until you get the best match.

Mini_man is the best!
