I passed the park listening the music with 550 just now, and was annoyed by a f@cking mad dog, it bited the line of headset, and the phone droped onto floor and turned silent all of a sudden.

Now, it always keep in the headset mode no matter the headset be pluged or not. And it does make any sound in any software with or without headset. But the ringtone still works.

Before I hard reset the phone, I found all my calendar data lost. After the hard-reset, the problem still be the same. It always be in the headset mode.

Anyone know what the wrong it is? I am out of guarantee time now, so I could only fix it by myself, but I can't do it, please help me.......

It might be that the micro-switch is stuck, which is a common problem.

Try to gently poke inside the headphone socket to reset the switch with the end of a matchstick or something similar.

If you hold the phone with the end facing you and the keypad facing up, I think the switch is on the left-hand side of the socket.

If you click it correctly you will see the profile change back from Headset. It may well instantly change itself back so you will need to repeat the process until it sticks. It can be frustrating but it usually works in the end.

Your problem is that you dropped your phone though so it may be damaged and need repairing by a service centre.

I had the same problem in that it was stuck on headset mode. Phoned HTC and they said to spray a little bit of WD40 in the headphone socket and push the jack in and out a few times to loosen it up - worked a treat.
