Currently getting imate to chase them over a missing Jam they've had 2 months - they won't answer the phone :-(

Previously had an issue with an sp3i that came back with a dmamaged aeriel cover and casing more chewed than it went with with a complete lack of contact during the process :-(

From memory, I know of 2 people with current / recent issues. 1 a prophet owner who had to get imate invoved, another an sp5 that got dunked in tea which we got going with a little bit of effort and technical help from me ;) - after they had quoted for a new screen and board! :) :D :)

IMO that is the absolute worst. 1 contact on the keypad needed cleaning and they quoted a board and screen needed!

Subject: FW: Club i-mate Support Request : SBE service in the UK do not answer the phone

Hello,

further to this chat, the IMEI of the Jam is 35481900XXXXXXX, I have had no

contact from SBE regarding it's repair and cannot contact them either by

email or telephone. The fault is vertical scrambled lines appear in the

display, otherwise the phone functions correctly. I have proof of sending

the device to SBE via Royalmail special delivery. They have had it nearly 2

months. I may well buy the Qtek 8500 rather than a smartflip as my next

phone because of this :-(

Many MANY other people have complained about SBE on internet forums

regarding the quality of their repairs and outrageous prices for repairs

that are not under warranty - and for work that does not need doing. They

are ruining i-mate's name in the UK and combined with the lack of brand

awareness outside the internet, using SBE for repairs in future will hinder

i-mate's sales growth within the UK in my opinion. The people who know

i-mate know them via the internet, and they also know SBE!

If you would like to see links about how bad SBE is, let me know.

Richard Anderson.

C'mon people, more info needed! From my last chat regarding the jam that sbe claim is water damaged ( and trust me I know it's not ;-) i-mate are listening and the problems with SBE not just my issue have been escalated so we need more info!

Anyone who's dealt with SBE, good *or* bad, post here please, or link to your own thread.
