Guest bosshogg Posted May 23, 2003 Report Posted May 23, 2003 While clearing some space on my spv last night I uninstalled the Longhorn skin. This morning Media Player doesn't run anymore :) I think the problem is that the registry still points to Longhorn as the media player skin. I changed HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows Media Player 8/Parameters/SkinDir back to Windows, but don't know what SkinFile should be set to (I don't have my sync cable here to browse the windows dir) - can anyone who hasn't skinned their media player just have a quick look and tell me what the key value should be? ta!
Guest jim80b Posted May 23, 2003 Report Posted May 23, 2003 skinfile should be wmplayer.skn that should be it
Guest fde Posted May 23, 2003 Report Posted May 23, 2003 same just happened to me. In addition all System Message pix are missing. Now that's what I call a clean uninstall
Guest bosshogg Posted May 23, 2003 Report Posted May 23, 2003 Weird thing for me though is that I haven't used the Longhorn skin for ages, and media player was already using the default windows skin! Uninstalling the skin seemed to set the media player skin back to Longhorn...
