Need Help Urgently

I am getting a replacement phone from Orange this morning, and have to delete all my contacts from my exsisting handset,

2 questions,

Are the contacts stored on SIM or Handset by default!

Assuming they are on the handset which I think they are how can I delete them all quickly?

They are stored on the handset.

I advise a hard reset (as detailed in the tips and tricks forum).

Why not call your topic something like "Contacts on SIM/Handset?" ?!? Would that not be more informative for people browsing the posts?
