Guest nikjensie Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 Started the update with the new MSN fix update. Got an error message that there was a problem and that I need to reboot the phone, when it reboots it ends up at the Canary screen and when I try to run the update again I get the message that it's checking my phone... for hours and hours... what happened??? The charge light is not lit anymore even though it's fully connected with both charger and USB. Active Sync doesn't seem to connect... No SD card inserted. Please Help :) Nik
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 Connect the phone to the PC and leave it on the canary screen, now reboot your PC and then disable any firewall you may have running. Once you have done that then re-run the update.
Guest kjk Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 wich rom you have on qtek and to wich rom you want to upgrade? If you have rom 1,3* qtek on your phone and trying upgrade to orange 1,6 it's not possible you have to upgrade firste to qtek rom 1,5 and then can you upgrade to orange 1,6.
Guest nikjensie Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 Hi again, I'm trying to upgrade to Qteks 1.5 with MSN fix from Qteks 1.3... Exactly what happens is that it unpacks the files and runs the update and instantly I get a window saying: "Checking the information on your Smartphone... Please Wait... Please don't disconnect your Smartphone from your PC or the power supply until the update is completed" And it' stuck there... I've disabled ZoneAlarm and Virus Checker (just in case)... followed awarners instructions... What happened when I first tried to update I guess is he erased the whole OS and now he finds nothing... Any ideas? Best Regards Niklas
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 As long as you can see the canary screen it is possible to re-run the update. It's when you cannot even see that then you are looking at a nice paperweight :?
