XPhone Bug : Polyphonic Synth Not Used For Alarms

Just found another bug in the XPhone ROM, let's see if it exists in the E200 as well.

Quite simply the MIDI synthisizer that's being used to play the sound file you've selected for an Alarm is the OLD one.. not the new nice sounding 32 chords one, but the old Beeping one from the SPV/x days.

Now this is TERRIBLY annoying. I wanted to use a Lengthy loud MIDI file as an alarm and I got was a DING (Load error when playing MIDI)... And I finally figured it out after some testing...

Well even wierder i am trying to set it to a midi file... press done... and check it again... the sound is set correctly.. but once the alarm goes off.. its the DING sound again !!!! :?: :evil: :?:

and also the ding sound isn't even looped......???????? its just Ding and that is.. not ding ding ding ding ding :)

Well UltimaSnake, if you've used an SPV or if you ask any other Smartphone 2002 users that DING means that there was an error loading the MIDI file. Usually because it has too much instrutments, not a Class 0 MIDI file, etc. etc. Either way, it's because the MIDI file can't be played by the player used for Alarms.

Actually, the Xphone _can_ use polyphonic MIDI's as alarms. However, when I'm testing the alarm by setting it a minute ahead of the current time it always works as expected, but when I set it for the next morning, I never hear the alarm, and when I check on it later (after oversleeping) the alarm sound is always set to Ding. :?:

my case is...Polyphonic can be set for alarm,but the quality is really poor...and there is so much noise :cry: .not as good as normal time...worse than a ding! :oops:
