Don't want I600 untill i can verify an upgrade path to 2003

Can anyone confirm if Verizon or Samsung will upgrade the I600 for smartphone 2003? I cannot trust verizon and their customer service is pure rubbish, so i was wondering if any one can for sure confirm if they will upgrade the i600 to 2003? I want to purchase this phone but won't unless they upgrade the software! Thanks, Helfy
