Guest mbro Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 My bank (ABN AMRO) provides a secure WAP site, offering a wide range of banking services for all WAP enabled phones. Some phone's can be configured over the air using OTA. Of course (:?) SPV doesnot support the OTA mechanism... And therefor I am stuck with a number of settings that (according to my bank's website) should be sufficient to configure any (?) (non-prepaid) GPRS phone: To use mobile banking configure your phone with the following settings: Name profile: AABMB Connection: continuous Security: on Bearer: GPRS IP-address: 167.202.199.011 Lingertime: 300 IP connection: 9203 (probably the port?) Homepage: https://www.abnamro.nl/mb/toegang/menu?txt_..._pasnummer=9999 [The 9s should be substituted by the accountnumber and cardnumber] APN name: internet (for Orange in the Netherlands). Username: (for Orange in the Netherlands). Password: (for Orange in the Netherlands). My QUESTIONS: - Where should I fill in what settings (shown below) to set up my phone correctly??? - The WAP site requires a Secure WAP (/WTLS) connection. Does the SPV support this?
Guest martin Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 I have also tried to setup a WAP connection to two seperate banking services and both of them failed :D I know that many other people had similar problems connecting to their banks. Conclusion: It doesn't work  The WAP site requires a Secure WAP (/WTLS) connection. Does the SPV support this?I think WTLS is the problem. I could connect to the WAP sites OK using a secure connection but it always failed when requesting 128 bit WTLS encryption. The WAP software was not part of the smartphone OS and was instead supplied by EZOS (or Jataayu for MPX200/MIO8380). After trying everything I now believe that its simply a shortfall in the supplied WAP software. What I want (what I really really want :)/ ) is mobile banking using standard Internet browsers [-o<
Guest mbro Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 Well, if anybody else got a clue... pls let us know. Besides the internet secured banking services I hope someone could will develop a WAP browser spcifically for Windows CE and SP devices that IS supporting WTLS. I would have guesed more people liked a secure banking service on their SPV... ?
