Guest davo141 Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 hi just wondering what the max size for the sd/mmc is on the e200 please. i hvae 2 128, but i wouldn't mind a 1gig one for songs
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 I believe there is no upper limit on the size - I've got a 512MB on order and others have had no problems with those. Can you let us know where and for what price you find a 1gig card :) I don't think any MoDaCo members have tried one yet
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 There have been a few members that have been testing them, forget who but Im guessing and no doubt repeating someone else, "It'll eat whatever you throw at it." :)
Guest davo141 Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 good stuff. well i'm gonna purchase one from where ever i can! either ebuyer.com.. expansys.com.. or ebay.co.uk
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 Love te avatar - Poor Starwars kid :)
Guest kingdom master Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 ive been testing 1gig for some tome now, and the e100 and e200 have no problem with it. larger cards are planned for next year. with doubled sd, so 2 gig+
Guest davo141 Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 good stuff, i want a 1gig card. currently, because i use the cam alot, and not many apps/games, i use the phone mem for pics 1 x 128card for videos movies etc 1 x 128 card for music. i use the phoe to listen to alt of music on the go, so i'd prefer a 1 gig is poss.
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 I've never seen 1gig cards for sale. Can you give us a pointer as to where we can buy them from please ?
Guest davo141 Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 expansys have a 1gig card 'coming soon' but available for preorder
Guest kingdom master Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 u cant buy them yet, im only testing one but there cool and bigger dual cards r planned.
Guest Ron Jeremy Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 I have had some problems with 256MB cards, however this is not caused by the phones. If you use a cheap and crappy card reader to copy data from your PC to your card they can render the card un-usable. i have been told that it's the card readers that have an upper support limit. anyway after trashing 2 x 256MB cards, I got hold of a good quality card reader and have no recurrence of the problem
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 Ron, are you prepared to name and shame the crappy card reader ? It's just that I was thinking of getting one.....
Guest Ron Jeremy Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 yeah sure. It was a Jessops branded USB SD/MMC reader, off the top of my head I can't remember the model name (S/N = 002566). It was bought to do a quick and dirty job at work, hence was cheap, it kind of back fired on me. I now use SD/MMC reader produced by Belkin and have also had no problems with PQI readers either.
