Guest Jiff Lemon Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 I'm thinking (and from reading in here) that the phone is probably loaded with bloatware. So, would a hard reset, following by a de-cert, and then installation of just the stuff I want be the way to go?
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 Pretty much so. You don't say which phone you've got but the only other basic thing is to make sure you're on the right ROM. For example, with the SPV & E100 its the Orange 1.6. You'll want to upgrade right after you hard reset and before you put anything like Contacts on the phone. All the info you need is up here so good luck and welcome to MoDaCo :)
Guest Jiff Lemon Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 Pretty much so. You don't say which phone you've got Posted in the MPX200 forum so I thought I wouldn't have too! hehehe :) Point, taken suppose I should have clarified!
Guest Emad Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 Eh, its not that bad. Just make sure you have caller id not installed and do the jmms fix, should run fine after that. Hard reset will remove jmms, but I don't think its that much of a drain.

Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 One thing to remember all future installation of apps should go on your storage card to save using the phones memory.
Guest Jiff Lemon Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 Thats why I posted the poll about memory cards in this forum - trying to work out whats best to buy.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 The biggest you can afford :) normally I recommend at least a 256MB card if your budget allows.
Guest p0pid0l Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 hiya im new too :D does anyone have a link for cheap mem cards? I have one coming in a few days hoepfully :)
Guest Jiff Lemon Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Cheapest SD I've found is : 512 SD @ ebuyer 256 SD @ Ebuyer
Guest Lorquis Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Cheapest SD (and any card really) that I have seen so far is usually sold by this guy :: http://www.stores.ebay.co.uk/ukmemorysupplier :: only thing is you have to wait a while for him to get some... but usually 512Mb cards are only around £90 at most... so well worth buying from him..
