Guest midnight Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 saw a post in news about someone charging for an internet time app (and someone charging for it), so couldnt resist doing this.... It shows date, 12 hour clock, 24 hour clock and internet time *Edit, made it a bit neater, and added Hexadecimal Time and Binary Time (why i dunno, just seemed like a good idea) one for the geeks amongst us methinks :)inttime.CABinttime.jpg
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 lol ... you're mocking PV!!!! Tsk tsk... *gives Midnight 5.99*
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Had to be done :) people trying to sell apps for a ridiculous price, that can be done over a cup of coffee do not help the developing Smartphone community. Perhaps they should have done a freebie with something bigger and better next.
Guest midnight Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 especially when internet time calculation is only ((hours*60)+minutes)/1.44
Guest nickcornaglia Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Now I dont even need to install your free app. I can just use my calculator!!! :)
Guest SmartGuy Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 its a really nice app midnight
Guest McHale Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 PV iTime by PV I think I figured out what PV stood for: [email protected] that's the support email address for the app. Midnight, I hope you don't mind but I sent him a link to this thread. :) After all, a business app like this could always use suggestions... -Mc
Guest Odd Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 hehe GREAT work midnight :) The binary option made the geek me feel warm and fuzzy inside hehe How about putting it up on handango for 0.599$ ?? I just might buy 10 of those... // O.
Guest midnight Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 any suggestions for more time types? had an interesting idea for one which used colours.... 1st block is black or white (black=pm, white=am), then 12 different colours for hours (from the range of colours in the spectrum), then a different brightness for that colour for the minutes i'm open to suggestions to add to this (so long as its just text based mainly cos its only javascript afterall) one update i may have very shortly is i've got a proper timer working (i hope), not page refresh, so i will be adding seconds and the page wont refresh every minute like it does currently another thing that i could do is an internet time calculator, so if someone lives around the world from you and they tell you the internet time you can calculate the time from that in both your country and their country hmmm, i can see this building into a full time application with world time etc. oh well hehe

Guest PV Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 So what is your idea for price of the product? For free??? What about random background images :) in updated versionPViTime.gif
Guest PV Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 So let's have the version 1.0 for free :)
Guest PV Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 6 bucks was not for that simple calculation but for the background, that means for programming and testing things and remember that the price is calculated including all costs for distribution.
Guest Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Ladies and Gentlemen, start your engines! :)
Guest McHale Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 PV sent me an email and he informed me that the app was now being offered for free. And hey, I gotta be honest. I kind of jagged him in the email and to be completely honest, he replied very kindly and friendly. Me, I'm a jerk when someone jags me personally so I find no fault in this guy. By the way, welcome to Modaco! And before anybody jags him, let's remember something. This guy wrote a program and tried to sell it. He didn't *STEAL* a FW upgrade or program and try to sell it on Ebay. PV, you're an alright guy in my book. We look forward to seeing more Smartphone apps. -McHale p.s. If you want to sell a program, many on here are killing to find someone who will port Dope Wars to the smartphone platform. The source code is available for free... see http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=6348...light=dope+wars
Guest tizio84 Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Same thing as JRC, a translation for Italian is available, even if I think that there are not so many people that could take profit of this Italian version...But, if you are Italian and have a Smartphone/PocketPC site, please write a news about this interesting script for Smartphones! Bye Ciaointtime_ITA.zip
