Guest matth Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 This from the bbc website story on the Las Vegas CES. "Microsoft is also due to give details about a line of portable devices to compete with Apple's iPod. Called Portable Media Centers, the gadgets will store and play video, music and photos and they are expected to go on sale by the end of this year" doesn't ma trusty spv do this and more already ? the future is now. m@
Guest smokedog Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 I hope the futures is not the SPV. Its the Jack of all trades and master of none. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest Smoovey Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 The SPV does all those things. Just with an iPod you don't need to charge it up everyday :) I know which I would rather have though - but most of us here are going to be a bit bias.
Guest Coucou Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 With an iPod you get Gigabytes rather than megabytes. Presumably with these portable media centres they are trying to compete on that level with micro hard drives.
Guest BrAGoL Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 certainly they're into that higher storage capacity for a longer lasting entertainment...
Guest ClintEastman Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 Just with an iPod you don't need to charge it up everyday. I have a 20GB 3Gen iPod, a full charge lasts about 6 hours!! Even an SPV can do better than that! (not long till phones come with a 1 inch drive, like a iPod mini). More people gush over my iPod than they ever did with my SPV.
