Weird email problem

Just done a semi-hard reset (using the "clear storage" app)

Whenever I try and get email now (just set it up again) I get the following error:

"Unable to connect. Verify your Dial-up or proxy settings are correct, and try again"

yet the phone works fine on GPRS for MSN connection, so its not a dial up problem. Nor is it a problem with the mail settings (unless my mail server is down and I don't know about it!)
