A newbie seeks help with his mpx200

after being shown an mpx playing mp3s and divx clips i thought id have me one of them...

but getting started is a nightmare. took it out on orange sub, and as far as i see, ive so far installed alphaflux's little app to app unlock the phone...and thats it

i have a divx player, but with out a file browser how do i activate the .exe?

just getting software to install on it is such a pain....

then i try and install a file broswer (smart explorer) and it says its unable to install, dispite alphaflux's patch...

ive rtfm many times and am tuning up empty - HELP!

i have 13 days left to return it...if i cant sort these (apparently simple) probs out, its going back to the store, which would be a shame seeing as i really liked its features.

ANY help appreciated for someone totally new to SPVs

Greetins fellow Noobie! I'm in the same situation as you, so do not dispair!

Firstly, get the Decert app from the sticky - I found that the single Unlock Cab worked for me - Couldn't get the EXE one to work.

You've got active synce installed on your PC? Use this to explore your smart phone. Navigate to the ICMSwindowsstartupaccessories (I think! - you should see the apps that are currently in your accessories folder). Drag the decert cab into there.

On the phone, Navigate to the accessories folder and you'll see the cab. Run it, and it will install and vanish.

Use a similar proceedure for installing other stuff.

I would also add that smartphones (of any variety) sometimes take to resetting themselves or half-reset...which ends up with the phone being app locked again, usually when you are nowhere near a PC. I've now got all of my most important apps (the install cabs) on my SD card, and importantly, a shortcut on my start menu to Alphaflux's unlock cab! This means you can unlock the phone at any time (except after a FULL reset) which is a good thing :)

Almost right again, I've found that some people have been having problems because they have too much stuff installed on their phone to start off with and installing anything else by copying the cab to the phone just makes things worse. Try sticking the .cab file on your SD card and just put a shortcut to it in IPSMWindowsStart MenuAccessories, Disadvantage of using this method is that you need to delete the shortcut afterwards, you could turn this into an advantage though by having the shortcut point to Storage CardInstall.cab and rename every .cab that you copy to the root of your SD card to Install.cab, then you won't need to bother deleting the shortcut. 8)

The mp3 player output is a little tinny..any way anyone knows of to make it a bit more bassy?

its a phone not a Hi-Fi :) :D :lol:

but seriously mine sounds pretty good..i suppose it depends on how well encoded your mp3's are

PS: to play the mp3's i use a app called pocketmusic which has a pretty decent equalizer on it and bass boost.. IMHO wmplayer sux

Err don't think so as long as you take my advice and always install all apps to the storage card etc you should never run out of space, unless you go SMS or ringtone crazy and not delete any :?

This is the recognised method that has been advised here for over a year :)

Also I was remarking on the fact that unfortunatly the first location was

typed slightly wrong so I was helping to give the correct path that
