Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 For those non UK'ers here, just to let you know that we are planning to have competitions specific to your countries too! Watch this space... ;-) P
Guest Coucou Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Fantastic comp! I've just got a small reservation about entering though... According to the Data Protection Act you must make a positive statement that you do want to be contacted for marketing otherwise it is illegal to use the information. Is it reasonable to assume that if I don't tick the box then you won't use it? Only that's not quite what your terms and conditions say. Mind you if your T & C's aren't legal they won't apply anyway :)
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 That is exactly what the checkbox is there for! P Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest Coucou Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Just making the point that it's not explained very well in your terms and conditions that ticking the box is what will allow marketing and not the filling in of the form.
Guest Brody Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 I'm in, now 5 other Smartphone websites that i like... :)
Guest darren22 Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 One day I will win something. Please let it be me. Still the MPX220 is looking very good if I don't. :)
Guest sponge Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Will I be given the opportunity to opt out of the marketing after I fail to win this competition?
Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 ...and this is why we all love MoDaCo. I think I'm due to win something soon. It's been at least a decade since I won anything in a compo.
Guest ClintEastman Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 ...and this is why we all love MoDaCo. I think I'm due to win something soon. It's been at least a decade since I won anything in a compo. I have NEVER won a comp, never, ever!! But my dad won the pools last year, does that count?
Guest Coucou Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 I won one of those in the orange magazine once :) trip to the British Grand Prix :D I'm always trying to win new phones but never have yet... fingers crossed, touching wood, saying "white rabbits" first day of the month, turning all elephants so their trunks face into the room (model elephants, obviously), anything else I should be doing?
Guest NederSoren Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 "]For those non UK'ers here, just to let you know that we are planning to have competitions specific to your countries too! Watch this space... ;-) P Anyways.. i've bought MoDaCo Plus to have a double chance in all competitions! So i cant say that i don't feel like i didn't get what i was promised when i signed up!.. :? But I guess that the competition for non-UK'ers only will make up to it.. :)
Guest MaJiK Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 First time I can actually enter a compo twice cuz I am a Plussy member - But how do I enter twice ? Or is it automatic ? TIA :)
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 It is automatic. P Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest Gorskar Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Where it says name - is that where you put in your Modaco username? (Its got to go somewhere surely or how will you check the plus members)
Guest PsychoDave Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Hey all :) Sheesh you go away for a while and see what happens :D Nice work. One question. When I hit submit it just went back to the portal screen again. Any way to check if it went through? Cheers
Guest wocket Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Paul Great compo. Just wondering about this in the terms. I'm sure it's a typo :) "]Entries for the prize draw close on 31st January 2003. Entries received after this date will be invalid.
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 If it redirects you, then it's worked... P Hey all :) Sheesh you go away for a while and see what happens :D Nice work. One question. When I hit submit it just went back to the portal screen again. Any way to check if it went through? Cheers
Guest ferret Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 "]If it redirects you, then it's worked... P To the portal front page?
Guest NederSoren Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 When will something happen' for us non-uk'ers? I still think that its annoing that i've bought PLUS, with double chance of winning all competitions, and then i suddenly can't win some of the compos at all..
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 As Orange set this constraint for very good reasons, should l not have run the competition at all then? Would that be better? Would you feel the same it it was Denmark only? P
