Guest martin Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Can anyone help me set up an unlocked SPV with MMS on t-mobile UK pay as you go. Explain like you would to your Gran please. I need the settings and advice on entering them. Help me and I will give you a fluffy sweet outta my pocketA fluffy sweet out of your pocket Eh :-k Ok :D As long as you didn't drop it on the floor :) I don't know the answer for certain but you would probably start here (taken from T-mobile site) First, get a Picture Messaging phone. Next, call 150 and say you want picture messaging. Then compose a message and send to a phone or email. Picture Messaging is now set up. The biggest problem (as always) is being able to confirm the APN, username and password for PAYG. The last time I checked T-mobile didn't do GPRS PAYG so unfortunately I don't what they are. As a guide this is how MMS would be setup for T-mobile contract. Programs - Settings - Data Connections Menu - Edit Connections GPRS connection - menu- Add Create a new GPRS connection Description : T-mobile MMS Connects to : MMS connection Access point: general.t-mobile.uk User name: user Paswword: one2one Programs - Settings - Accessories - MMS setup First field: t-mobile MMS IP: 149.254.211.010 Port: 9201 Mmsc Address: http://mmsc.t-mobile.co.uk:8002 What you will probably need to do is confirm the APN, username and password with T-mobile CS although they probably won't have a clue what you are talking about. The other way of getting the settings is to borrow someone elses phone, which T-mobile do have on their list, and get the PAYG MMS setting to you over the air. You can then check the settings and use them to setup the SPV.
Guest Davee Cee Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 There's a Werthers Original on it's way to you if this works bud.
Guest martin Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Good News - It works :) Just got GPRS & pic messaging activated on my T-mobile PAYG SIM (had it lying around). Tested full internet browsing and then successfully sent a picture via MMS from T-mobile to Orange :D Confirmed: T-mobile PAYG GPRS settings are the same as contract. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest Davee Cee Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Martin Thanks mate. Do you want wine gums or midget gems? Thanks again. Did you delete all the other connection settings or add new ones to get it going? What d'ya recommend?
Guest martin Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 How about kola cubes :) I find it best to delete any dialup/proxy/gprs settings not used. That way there is less chance of the registry getting confused. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest Davee Cee Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 It's working. Woo Hoo! I deleted/amended the Orange setting to your specs. Sorted! I will send you a quarter pound of Kola Cubes through the post. Make sure your postman doesn't steal em! Mucho Gracias.
Guest StOrM121 Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 Sorry to bring up such an old topic  But i really need help on this too. What are the MMS settings for T-Mobile UK on contract? Im using the original SPV. Because, when someone sends me an MMS message, i get an SMS telling me to visit t-mobiles site to download the message. TIA
Guest martin Posted May 10, 2004 Report Posted May 10, 2004 The MMS setting are in the settings posted above :) Have you confirmed that MMS has been activated on your account ? If you haven't used MMS with that SIM before then check with T-Mobile customer services. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest StOrM121 Posted May 10, 2004 Report Posted May 10, 2004 Thanks, no i don't think MMS has been activated on my account, so just phone up, and ask?
