IR remote control

Any1 know of a remote control prog for the SPV, TV, Video, DVD player etc

My mates just got a nokia 6600 and he's downloaded one. watching TV has become very annoying in my house, when he's around

unfortunately not possible with the phone's IR transmitter. Pity but there you go. It's one of the most requested things on the phone, do a search and you should find numerous topics containing more technical reasons. :)

If you want a remote control and PDA in one then I would suggest a Sony Clie, although, this runs Palm OS and not Smartphone

The IPAQ h2210 has a built in remote control app as standard ;)

O2 XDA has n IR port you can use as Remote

Shame about the smartphones not doing it thou maybe thats what the new C550 Will do ;)

If theres no way to use IR as a remote, what about any apps that could do similar with bluetooth?

I remember reading on another forum somewhere about something like this as a java app for controlling pc's / laptops. Would definatley be useful for me as i play all my dvd's on my laptop but have no remote. A bluetooth remote app would be excellent.

Damn, what can I say? Damn. Hopefully they will correct this in upcoming phones/Pocket PCs if needed
