Guest scott2eyes Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 While trying to arrange the various files on my 3 tiny SD cards onto my new 128Mb card (an absolute godsend...), I discovered that the phone doesn't react too well to changing cards around; basically, it doesn't seem to recognise when I've swapped cards, still shows the folders from the old card after I've put a new card in (both on Binarys explorer and activesync), and doesn't react to the "refresh" in either explorer. Is there a way to force the phone to check what memory card is in without power cycling the phone, or is there just something wrong with my phone? Cheers :)
Guest Bonzo Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 I wouldn't recommend 'hot swapping' the SD card in the MPx... there have been a number of stories of people having the card wiped by doing this!!! It may be cumbersome and time consuming but I would power cycle the phone with each swap
Guest scott2eyes Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004  Oh well- thanks for the tip!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 I would be surprised if the card would be wiped :? It may not read the card correctly but it should not be possible to wipe the card unless you actually changed cards while it was being written to. That way it may make the card corrupt. I use different cards all the time and the only thing I always ensure is that prime apps like Smart Explorer and Task Manager are always located in the same folder directory on each card.
Guest McHale Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 for ease of convenience, I would just say buy a USB card reader for your PC and copy all of it at once... -Mc
