Guest peekie Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 hello all spv E200 users ive noticed on the bottom of the screen on the E200 a white line this is more visable when using dockware or the home screen. is this normal ? ive asked the orange shop here in holland and they dont see any problems but i find it a pain if you play some games with black screens you get this white line at the bottom a bit like there is a line of colour missing !!! ANY ideas as my phone is only a few days old and if this is a fault i should get orange nl to replace it :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :?
Guest rafiq_p Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 I have a vertical white line on the right about 5 pixels wide. It is permanent. You should change your phone for another if I were you. I got it after 8 months of having the phone I dont recall dropping the phone or damaging it externally so I guess it is a component fault.
Guest peekie Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 i went to orange today and they said the line on the bottom 1 pixel is normal and the only other spv E200 has the same problem, which is why i did not get a new one
Guest rafiq_p Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 I have the original SPV so I cant comment on if the e200 is designed like that. Maybe the problem I have and you have is different. If the line stays permanently white no matter what you display on the screen then I think that is a problem and it should not be there.
Guest peekie Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 i think that also and will try the helpdesk as i think for the money i paid ( 260 euros + a years contract ) it should be good. noticed one thing on both the spv and E200 if you install too many programmes and games the remove programmes goes blank and the list of installed programmes disapears......
Guest rafiq_p Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 I have never experienced that. How many is too many apps.
Guest peekie Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 i have 74 progammes mainly games installed and up until 70 i got the uninstall option now not ,but i can un install through the computer though but its a shame the spv cant this happens in both the spv and the spv E200 got the progs and games from emules search under spv
Guest Vector Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 I have the line to, and so does my brothers E200, and i think i remember Brody saying his screen had a 1 pixel white line at bottom too.... ? :)
Guest peekie Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 seems strange as the original spv did not have this problem its only in a few games and progs it really shows shame there is no programme to adust the screen ( midnight ) your good with the spv any ideas or apps you can make???
Guest MECX Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 No way thats a disgrace---now that has put me well off buying a E200. he one pixel that is dead on my TFT bugs me BUT A WHOLE LINE!!
Guest peekie Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 you see the problem by the home screen and the dockware software if this is a fault then orange should address this problem any ideas mr orange???????? i think you should have a whole screen not 99% the phone is not free to upgrade and should be perfect to see at least the same as the spv !!!!!! is there a programme that can adust the screen???
Guest kernowmagic Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 But orange will say that unless it afects you using the phone (you cant see what you doing) then they will not replace it, I have the same sort of thing on my e100
Guest peekie Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 one intersting thing i found out today was after i used pocket tv and the film ice egg the white line was gone until boot up that is ,so all i do is start the pocket tv and film for a few seconds and that does it , mr o do you have any answers to why this happens??? :? :? :?
Guest MECX Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 wow that is very strange i was assuming it was a hardware fault but it must be software---ahh well at least it might be fixable :) still a disgrace tho
Guest peekie Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 it is strange that the programme does this so it must be a software problem as the line goes by surtain games but returns when the game is over but by pocket tv the screen stays good :? :? :?
Guest ultimasnake Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 I think it has something todo with either apps rendering an screen at 219 Pixels height or the screen beeing 221 pixels.... i will run a test with that when i get home. if Pocket tv seems to draw 221 pixels and the entire line of pixels is black that might fade it away , while if it might have been white who knows it might be white again. it is odd though i will run a series of tests and see what i will get....
Guest ultimasnake Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 Ok guys just patched up a little program to test our problem.... The first test draws 2 red lines on the screen at the top (0) and the bottom (220). the second one a completely white screen which will let you check for dead pixels.. my test show that the 220 pixel line isnt drawn and stays white , this is an isue since we are missing 1 line of pixels for real...... i will also post this in the e200 forum itself .. Can anyone patch up a similar program in C++ ? maybe its a .Net bugScreen tester.zip
Guest Brody Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 I have the line to, and so does my brothers E200, and i think i remember Brody saying his screen had a 1 pixel white line at bottom too.... ? :) Indeed I do, its common throughout all e200's.
Guest ultimasnake Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 Please read this post.. i found something out that is really odd http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...p=357991#357991
Guest peekie Posted January 17, 2004 Report Posted January 17, 2004 ive found if you open the game toki tori and choose exit without playing the game the white line is gone ( until the next boot up )
