Guest cybercamel Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 When I open Outlook I get the following message 'C:documents and settingsMarkApplication DataMicrosoftAddInsC:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOfficeSBCMSYNC.DLL' is not a valid Office add-in. While it doesn't seem to affect anything, it is annoying. I recently installed office 2000, but already had outlook 2002 already installed from the E200 disc. It is a new laptop, running Windows XP. I would guess at some sort of conflict, but not being an expert, haven't really got a clue!!!! :) If anyone has any suggestions I would be very grateful. PS I posted off-topic because not sure if this is related to activesync or not!
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 First thing to try would be to reinstall Outlook XP again. I'vedeffinately had OLXP running fine with the rest of Office 2000
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 Go to tools, options, advanced, add-ins and disable the offending one! P Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest cybercamel Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Thanks for your replies. I'm running Office 2000, but Outlook is 2002, not XP (unless they're one in the same) and when I go to Tools > Options, there is no Advanced tab. But when I go to Other > Advanced Options there are a couple of Add-In buttons, but nothing in them that looks like my problem.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 XP and 2002 are the same. Again though i'd still suggest reinstalling OLXP over the top of your current setup.
Guest cybercamel Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Ok, thanks for your help guys! But problem solved :) I used Detect and Repair and restore Default Settings, seems to have done the trick!
