Guest midnight Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 Not sure if this is a miss-print or not, but Phones 2 U Direct now have the Motorola MPX200 in stock for O2 and Vodaphone networks. A quick look at Phones4U seems to confirm that they will be available, but are currently not in stock.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 Smartphones now spread out on the UK Networks :)
Guest glynton Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 I can confirm that Phones 4 U in Coventry have them in Stock on O2 and Voda (GSM)
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Smartphone Network Wars - Its what we've been waiting for :)
Guest morpheus2702 Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 What I'd be interested in hearing about is what the other networks technical support is like. We probably spend half our time on here saying what a bunch of muppets deal with Orange Techical Support for Smartphone - is the grass really greener on the other side?
Guest theodotcom Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 All of central london phones 4 u stores have them in stock. :)
Guest mavisdavis Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 :) Just had a look and all networks aprt from Orange have them in stock.lol
Guest Shuflie Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 :) Just had a look and all networks aprt from Orange have them in stock.lol Probably because Orange offer such a good deal when it comes to the price, can't keep them in stock as they fly off the shelves so fast. :D
Guest Coucou Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 I thought Vodafone had said that smartphones were not ready for prime-time yet? soon changed their tune! Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest Brody Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 No they didn't Coucou, this is just a shop bundling a Vodafone contract with the MPx200, still good news though!
Guest Coucou Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 Yeah, but don't vodafone have to approve which phones are sold on their network? Orange do.
Guest Brody Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 Good question and one that I can't answer...
Guest scott2eyes Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 As I understand it, it's the network who buys the phone from the manufacturers then gives it to the consumer at little to no cost- the actual cost of it then gets spread out over your phone bills, line rental etc.
