activesync wont access exlore phone

Activesync has decided that it wont open the explorer to the phone on my PC. I plug into the cradle, activesync opens & synchronises, then when I click explore, the window opens on the PC but just stays blank, & eventually closes with an error msg.

HELP!!

I've had this before and normally I just try another USB port first and

also unplug the phone from the cradle, and plug back in again.

Other wise try rebooting the PC and phone.

yeah, I tried them things already, I even replaced my cradle with the smart new one from my e200 which I had been keeping! Reboots of both phone & PC had no effect, but I have just managed to get it working, by switching of my zonealarm firewall!

But when I start up the firewall again, it stops working!! But if I turn the firewall off again, it STILL doesnt work!! Seems to only do it if I switch off the firewall before the first sync.

This only started happening yesterday, & I've had the firewall & activestink running successfully for a few days before this. Whats happened? Is it the firewall settings??

I realise this is somewhat after the event, but yes it's your firewall.

I had the same issue, and after much hair pulling realised it was my sygate firewall. The annoying this is, it doesn't always stop it, so the problem's hard to track.

Just thought i'd post this so others could refer back to it.

cheers

I had a similar problem thats still ongoing, with zone alarm I had to turn it off to get active sync running but now when my phones in the cradle I can't hook up to the net just get the system shock error message, bloody annoying having to close everything down shut down zone alarm just to sync the phone

I'd get shot of zone alarm. Could never get on with it myself, caused me no end of problems.

This is the first issue i've had with Sygate, it's been great this far..

I sometimes have a similar problem when I use my work computer. First time I connect, it has always worked fine- however, every so often Explorer just refuses to "see" the phone, until I reboot the computer (rebooting the phone has no discernable effect.)

My work colleague (and friend!) had the same problem tonight at work with his E200 (Win2k), killed the Activesync process and restarted it, reconnected the phone and all was well.

A tad obvious, but might be worthwhile for any newbies reading this.

Zonealarm caused this problem for me too. Everything else worked fine but not exploring...
