Guest timstuff Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 I am using a motorola mpx 200 on orange in the UK. I downloaded and Copied the unlock file to IPSMWindowsStart MenuAccessories, ran it from there, the file opened and said it installed. I closed it, then tried to install pocket candy - but still got the messgae 'failed to install on your device'. What am I doing wrong??
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Did you restart your phone? also try Smart Explorere and Task Manager on www.monolithix.com
Guest JOEJOETHEJOEY Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Doesn't Smart Explorer require the phone to be decert before it will install?
Guest equis Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Did you use the Alphaflux .cab file? It should run then dissapear from where it was ran from.
Guest np27np27 Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 I ran it off the SD card..worked a treat!
Guest JOEJOETHEJOEY Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 I ran it off the SD card..worked a treat! Does it have to be put in a particular folder on the SD card?
Guest np27np27 Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 In the storage card you got with your phone there should have been a folder called '2577'. (Well thats what it was called on my card!) Inside this is auto run.exe, and a Smartphone 2002 folder. Pop the alphaflux.cab file into the Smartphone 2002 folder from activsync on your pc. Then reset your phone, a screen should pop up listing software within that Smartphone 2002 folder for you to run. :D Its best to make a copy of the '2577' folder somewhere in case you need it again! :)
Guest np27np27 Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 Here's that autorun.exe file incase anyone needs it! :) You must create new 2577 and Smartphone 2002 folders yourself from activesync explorer.Autorun.exe
Guest np27np27 Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 Question? Is that folder called '2577' on other peoples phones??
Guest JOEJOETHEJOEY Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 Oic, yeh, I noticed the Autorun.exe file but I wasn't aware you could use it for any app. :) Great stuff! And, the "2577" folder is on my card as well. (Orange UK).
