Guest Neil Clark Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 Is it a good camera? its in the phone aint it? Neil
Guest Smoovey Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 Yes, the E200 has an integrated camera 8) It is capabile of taking both pictures and videos. The E200 camera is located on the phone reserve, above where the battery sits. Personally I have found the camera function to be fair :D Afterall it is a tiny little camera which is built-in. Apparently the quality is not as good as the 'snap-on' camera modules for SPV or E100 handsets. But I rarely used the extra camera bit on those handsets because it was a nuisance to carry around. So even if the quality is lower, I figure it is a much better option to have it built in  If you are concerned about the picture quality though; it might be possible to use one of the original 'snap-on' cameras with the E200. I haven't tried and don't have an E200 to test that yet. Maybe someone with one might know if the 'snap-on' camera works as a double-up :)
Guest Neil Clark Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 As long as you can see pictures taken in say a pub :) , i never use my spv snap on camera because of not havin with me! Neil
Guest Smoovey Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 Exactly :D That is one of the key features which really makes the E200 worthwhile. More of a 'just in case' function to capture something :) The Orange shop I played around on an E200 in was, of course, very well lit. However, the camera software does have different setting modes to accomodate for different lighting. So in theory it should work well in a pub or anywhere a bit darker.
Guest ChrisJM Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 i hav posted some sample pics HERE Enjoy
Guest Neil Clark Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 Cheers for that, right off too buy one! Neil
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 If you are concerned about the picture quality though; it might be possible to use one of the original 'snap-on' cameras with the E200. Theres no drivers within the E-200 to allow the "snapon" to function properly. Ive got no problems with the E-200's camera - let us know what you think of it Neil :!:
Guest frazzel Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 I think its very good, I have had 4 cam phones and the spv is tops!! Knocks the spots of my brick nec 3g phone
Guest Smoovey Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 I was taking pictures with an NEC e808 the other day :) That is about the only use for them. The network they run on has awful customer services! If people think Orange are bad they should try Three
Guest xanadu Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Afterall it is a tiny little camera which is built-in. Apparently the quality is not as good as the 'snap-on' camera modules for SPV or E100 handsets. But the original SPV camera was not that great. So the E200 camera must be abysmal then.
Guest frazzel Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 no the e200 icam is the vest i have had, dont mention three on here its pants to be honest. God only knows whyi joined that network too, apart from the free calls, if u can make one
Guest peekie Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 having both an original spv and an spv E200 i must say i think the originals photos where better than the E200 try zooming in after you have taken the photo you see the square pixals and out of focus quicker on the 200,plus on the original spv the picture size was more made in mind for display on the home screen ,the 200 is more a square picture needing more inzoom to fill the screen ( can be software related in the camera prog ) as in the original spv you could mirror the photo which was nice if you use the photo on the home screen, my photo of the rabbit was taken with an original spv..
