Guest SPVDave Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 I have an application which monitor my servers, networks and backups at work. If it finds any problems it uses a modem to dial-up to O2's SMS centre and sends a text message out to various people. Anyone using a non-smartphone (i.e. Nokia, Sony, etc) gets the message and it looks fine. But on my SPV it is a different story. Prior to the December 03 update, the message was OK except it showed that the senders number was £8. Yes, a pound sign and the number 8. Nokia phones showed some 07???? number which must be something to do with O2. After the December 03 update the message is now useless. The message is completely blank and the senders number is 1111. Now that I don't see the content of the message it makes the text useless. I know something is wrong but have to check my servers to find out what. I've spoken to Orange who say that they can't help. I haven't tried O2, but surely the problem lies with the phone, since the update caused it. I've even used some other software to send a message using the O2 modem SMS service, but still the same. Now, I'm missing out on something by having an SPV that Nokia users are getting. If anyone can help, please do.
Guest femke Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 we had the same problem here in Holland with testing the new ROM: it has to do with "Large Account" SMS. So I think the problem is in the ROM and there's nothing to be done about it. Orange Netherlands have informed Microsoft (HTC) and they fixed the problem, that's why our ROM update was 3 months later than the UK version
Guest SPVDave Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 I know I posted this issue way back, but has anyone else resolved this yet?
