Guest matt_hobson Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 Hey, i have searched for this and although there are quite a few threads, none are very conclusive. I want a good MP3 player for the e200, which allows me to store the MP3's in a folder of my choice on my SD card (this is where media player falls down). Im not too fussed about any visuals - would be nice but all i want is a good quality app that works - without draining the battery too much. Only one i have seen is Pocket Music - But this is Trialware not freeware as it is only free for 30 days. Thanks in advance Matt
Guest nikjensie Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 Well, sitting in the same boat as you and having tried and used PocketMusic for sometime, I've had to crawl back to Windows Media Player. I think PocketMusic skips WAY to much and is having problems playing music that the built-in Media Player handles fine. I'd love to start using it but it needs some work. Sorry that I can't be more of help... Nik
Guest matt_hobson Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 no probs mate, i think media player is great, apart from the fact that you have to have the files on the phone itself. Is there anything you can get to enable a search function for it? Matt
Guest awesterink Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 apart from the fact that you have to have the files on the phone itself. Media Player will also find files on an SD card. The problem with WMP is that it simply displays all files it finds in a giant list. You can pick favorites, but that's about the extent of organization you can do.
Guest matt_hobson Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 ah, well thats a step up at least, cheers, just got my nice new 256MB card in this evening, so much to install...
Guest nikjensie Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 I just think that there is so many things that needs to be improved with Media Player... a simple resume playing after incoming call for instance... some xtra bass features... I don't know, I loved PocketMusic but got sick of the annoying skipping.... Nik
Guest casperr Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 Pocketmusic would have been perfect but you are right, skips a LOT
Guest m1.carson Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Media player skips a lot too, was hoping to find a fix here but to no avail, anyhow, to play wma files off an SD card, put them in a folder called storage cardsounds, it might take a few seconds/minutes to find them but it works. P.S. if you go to menu-settings you can at least set it to play randomly.but you need to do this every time you fire WMP up, any idea what "background" does,I hoped it would keep the player going whilst using other apps. but doesn't seem to do anything.
