Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 Member JRC has posted an article and app on how to SIM unlock your SPVE100 in the French forum smartease.net :D Now you can remove the simlock on your SPV/SPV E100 with the latest ROM (1.6 !!!)... More information and discussion HERE Just to give you some more information  JRC is the old co-webmaster of smartphony.org and he tells me that Smartease isn't only a forum it's a news website dedicated to MS Smartphone, and this news website is the news french portal.... It's good to see a French Smartphone dedicated site again and I wish him all the luck with smartease :)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 I have tested this out and it works with the V1.10 Bootloader, i.e. the 1.6 Update :)
Guest Brody Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 WOW! Great news for SPV/e100 owners!
Guest Lopio Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 Hope it would work with smart ver 1.7 too
Guest James Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 another wow... indeed some great news! cheers! Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest shadamehr Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 Anyone have even a rough guess as to how far off we are from being able to SIM Unlock an E200? I know nothing about the intracacies involved in how it differs to unlocking an E100, but most people tell me its just a matter of time. So can any well educated and informed member give us a rough guess as to when this might happen, and maybe also a simple layman's term guide as to why it is different/more difficult than an E100..?
Guest AdrianFRST Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 I just tried this on my E200. I knew it wasn't going to work, I just wanted to know how far it would get and what error it produced when compared with the XDA2 unlock tool. It fails at the bootloader password, wheras the XDA2 tool begins to read the memory then fails (gets stuck in a loop and just persists with "reading block 1". If someone had the knowledge to combine these two programs it might just work...
Guest alirahimi Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 Hello All Itried to dowload the file to unlock my Orange SPV, but it comes witha message "You don't have permission to access /soft/SPVUnlock.exe on this server". I have also tried all other methods mentioned in most places and have not been able to sim unlock it. Would appriciate it if some one could help me in this matter. I have asked Orange to get it unlocked but had no response from them yet. Thanks in advace Ali This was earlier, now have found the link and tried it. It worked so needs to be tested. will let you know if all is ok. Thank you guys.
Guest Arisme Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 If someone had the knowledge to combine these two programs it might just work... the XDA 2 and E200 bootloaders don't have the same functionalities ... I'd say that the E200 bootloader is much more broken (on purpose ?). One thing's clear, you won't be able to unlock an E200 this way, sorry
Guest SmartGuy Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Hi Guys, A fellow smartphone user in the phil pmed me and said that the Unlock code dialog box does not appear when you enter a sim other than that of Smart Phils. This is for Smart ROM 1.6. Any ideas? Thanks. PS. The SPVUnlock2 was successful in getting the unlock code from the phone but not when putting in a different sim.
Guest xkryon Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 Please i need help to remove the Simlock of my SAP, i just made the Update, and lock the network!!!!!!!! with the utility i can get the unlock code, but i don't know where to put it.!!!! HELP ME PLEASE.
Guest royiel Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 Where you able to SIM unlock your SAP after the 1.7 ROM Update. You mentioned that you were able to get the SIM Lock code w/SPVUnlock 2.0. When you put your SIM in it should prompt for the SIM code after the OS loads. Another item to check is: Settings > 1 Telephony > 1 Band Selection I'm in the US with T-Mobile PCS Band. I would like to apply the SAP 1.7 update but can't take the leap unless I can SIM unlock it.
Guest Lopio Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 SPV Unlock ver 2 can read the unlock code of Sap 1.7, but Sap 1.7 will not ask for unlock code, if you change sim card it will just say invalid sim card.
Guest royiel Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Thanks. Long-Short: Don't install SAP 1.7..
Guest squippo Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 Brilliant. Cant believe it was so easy. I got the code, changed card and entered the code and it all worked. Is my phone permanantly unlocked now? or will i have to enter the code again if i use a different sim card?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 Is my phone permanantly unlocked now? Yes
Guest skanna Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 does this work for you with the 1.6 upgrade. It doesnt for me. It say' No link paprameters found' or something. What am I doing wrong??

Guest skanna Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 Yes, I am in the canary three colour screen. Everything seems OK. In fact the first time the unlock program returned the error about checking to see if the phone was in bootloader mode and that activesync was deactivated. But closing activesync and making sure that the bootloader screen was on resulted in the second error of 'no link parameters found'??? Has it worked on your phone and is your phone upgraded to the 1.6 update?
Guest squippo Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 Has it worked on your phone and is your phone upgraded to the 1.6 update? yeah it worked on my phone (1.6 rom). my active sync was open too as the phone as plugged in. If it were me id reboot computer, reboot phone. sync phone, put phone in bootloader mode (while plugged in) run unlock program. Thats how i did it anyway.
