Guest gsmwraith Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 i was thinking about getting an mpx200 i have read some on them but had a few questions, what can be used for ringtones ? midi, wav mp3 or all of them ? thanks in advance
Guest smeg36 Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 I think just midi and wav. MP3, as far as I know, doesn't work as a ringtone.
Guest ewenfung Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 I have tried to put some .Wav and .Midi files (which came with WinXP) into IPSMApplication DataSounds directory... I can only get a single BEEP sound for all .wav and .midi I put. Anything wrong during the transfer of the files? So disappointed about that. I've asked Moto Customer Services, and they said that they only recommend the ringtones from www.mymobilesoft.com... Could anyone upload me a "tested" and successful ringtone for my testing?

The customisation section of MoDaCo has few topics with uploaded ringtones. For instance this one  http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=66965 Also try this topic for help in coding SPV compatible WAV files http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=90760
Guest zeta101 Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 you cannot use polyphonic midis (ie midis that have more that one instrument playing at the sametime) thats why you get the single beep. The topic martin gave will solve the problem for the wavs also.
Guest ewenfung Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Thanks. I've followed some hints from you guys. I've converted them to PCM format WAV file and It works now!
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 In case you're still interested in MIDI ringtones, here are some examples I've used. There are some on coolsmartphone but I've used various free/shareware programs to modify MIDI downloads. MID0 format is what you need to convert to and make sure the volume is not too loud. :lol:MIDI ringtones.zip
