Too much "Unlock info"

Hi All,

This is my first post in this forum so please don't kill me straight away if I ask stupid questions.

In late December I got my Dutch SPV E200 as my old contract runs out early February and I renewed it.

I'm very happy with the E200 (except the very poor battery life) but to use this phone freely and to the full extend I found out that I would best need to unlock it to use all applications out there.

Now, I spend days and days informing myself about that unlock process on different web sites and forums and the only thing I managed is that I'm now totally confused due to too much and sometimes contradicting information.

So here is my very simple question and I hope there is a very simple solution/answer for it.

Is it possible to unlock my DUTCH SPV E200 and if yes, how? I already tried the Orange web site unlock tool for the SPV E100 several times but without success.

I'm really sorry if I am asking this maybe stupid question but I really hope I will get an answer here.

Are we talking APPLICATION UNLOCK or SIM UNLOCK?

AFIK at the moment there isn't a SIM unlock process for the E200 model. The unlock procedures already in circulation were all for the original SPV or E100 (after downgrading the bootloader), but as yet no-one has managed to crack the E200. As mentioned on the Modaco homepage at the moment, JRC has recently released a SIM UNLOCK program for an E100 with 1.6 update loaded and this works great. Have just done it myself.

If it's APPLICATION UNLOCKING you're trying to do I think the official Orange Application Unlock method works. If not try this thread: http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=98422 and it has a link on how to APP UNLOCK you E200.
