Disabling Network Searching

Okay this is kinda stupid but:

I want to disable the auto network search as my SIM has been locked out by my network (China Mobile) cause I haven't paid in like a month.

But I want use my phone for other features and so I want to have it stop searching for the network, so it doesn't constantly drain the batteries.

Or maybe I can use some software to stop using the SIM card altogether and still access the other features of the phone.

I'm using a Dopod 515 with Smartphone 2003 but any help even regarding Smartphone 2002 is appreciated.... thanks

You can switch 'Radio off' or 'Aeroplane mode on' by accessing the quick menu (hit power button once). This should stop all communication across the radio network :wink:
