Guest AdrianFRST Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 Knocked up some more backgrounds for my PPC 2003 Bliss homescreen today (right click and save): As you can see I'm a bit of a fan of the nature / operating system contrast :) Windows Longhorn Other One for the X-Phone or o2 users Also a colour scheme file if you want white text (right click, save target as): http://www.expure.com/spv/ppc2003_white.scheme.xml
Guest Charlie Mouse Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 Great homescreen and backgrounds. Have you got a Photoshop template for creating the backgrounds? If you could post it here that would be brilliant we could all create background images.
Guest lutzh Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 @adrianFRST: now that you create that very smooth homescreen xml i would ask you to do the next step: intergrate the symbols you use on the background image into the xml file. that gives even more options for background image personalization. cheers, lutz
Guest snowgoon Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 Very nice - can I ask where you got the pictures from (I recognise a couple of them but the others look very nice too!)
Guest AdrianFRST Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 Template here: http://www.expure.com/spv/ppc2003_template.png It's a Fireworks .png but it should work ok in Photoshop. Lutz That's my next plan but I'm not sure if it's possible to position gif images on the screen. I think I've seen it done with bmps but they need the transparancy. Snowgoon The Longhorn ones came from http://www.winsupersite.com/ There are some full size versions there, and more by googling for "longhorn wallpaper" The o2 one is from wallaper in the downloads section of www.myxda.com and the other scenery ones are just comp images of stock photography. I forget the exact site but there are similar images on www.creatas.co.uk, www.gettyimages.com, and www.stockbyte.com. Note that you have to pay for the full size images (they are intended for design use) but the comps (sample images) are smaller and ideal for homescreens. They aren't exactly free usage, but as I'm not selling them I don't think it's much different than anyone using Windows wallpaper or the Simpsons or something.
Guest w0mbat Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 Really nice. Thanks for your ongoing effort .
Guest jhuncortez Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 do you have any upcoming new background designs??? thanks
Guest Osiris Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 hey cheif great home screen, is there a ny chance of a 2002 version of the white text xml?
Guest try Posted August 12, 2004 Report Posted August 12, 2004 I modified the PPC 2003 Bliss to elaborate O2 Xphone screen. I hope Adrian would'nt mind. Name PPC O2 Author AdrianFRST Screenshots See Below Features CAB format Just modified the PPC 2003 Bliss to the O2 standard skin. I replace the standard MRU using RJShortcut, add the temperatur plugin by kalantz (http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=88279). Also in ppc_O2.home.xml, I put the optional Oxios Task Plugin. You can replace the temperatur by OxiosTask, just by comment and uncomment lines inside this xml. You need to download the RJShorcut Plugin (http://smartphone.peakin.com/download/rjshortcut/), and Oxios Task Plugin (http://www.oxios.com/Plugins.html)if needed. Temperatur plugin included, might need thermometer software by Xetra (http://xetranet.free.fr/spv/thermo/). Also included the white text scheme in ppc_white.scheme.xml Extra Screens skinned: -Startup -Shutdown -Information -Error -Call -Call Log -Question Comments: Tested on O2 Xphone only, but I think this will work with Windows Smartphone 2003. The application on RJShortcut can be modified by modifying the ppc_O2.home.xml directly, Look for: And modifiy the .lnk lines above. Guest jeffma Posted September 16, 2004 Report Posted September 16, 2004 Satelindo? I bet u from Indonesia.. hehehe aku juga di indo lagi..^^ nyatanya byk jg orang indo disini
Guest monkeyjabber Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 I created a PNG template to create XP Bliss homescreens without the lines. I also noticed that the screen of my MPX200 is quite a bit dimmer than my computer monitor. Images that look like they would be good backgrounds on my PC turn out to be too dark on my phone.couleurs_0021.jpgImage9.png
Guest Skunkchild Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 To improve background images increase the colour saturation settings in your graphics program.
Guest rekall Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 Can anyone tell me why the white text XML file doesnt seem to do anything? My text remains blue!? I have a C500 with clear type enabled if this makes any difference Thanks
Guest craigp Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 Adrian, After trying a fair few homescreens I can honestly say that I prefer yours by some margin! One, and only one, thing though. The 'Start' icon at the top left of the screen uses the same screen area as my SMS message icon. (C500) Is there any chance at all of you re-issuing the template without the icon? Thanks again for the superb graphics and XML ^_^ Craig
Guest rekall Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 OK managed to sort out the text issue as my default colour scheme was set to 'bliss' needed to set this to 'default' Added my own background and also added the all day plugin. Has the All day plugin on the top line, time and location on the next (with no text wrap) and 3rd line is the meeting title with text wrap. Thanks for a great template just now need to try and add the Batplugin....homescreen.jpg
Guest steverae Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 I am also working on modifying this homescreen. I have a ipaq so am using it's default screen to alter this screen to suite. I have changed the network line to show owner info and am currently working on a full screen missed calls and new sms type situation with alert boxes that simulate the pocketpc alerts. I'll post the completed thing when i'm happy that is not causing problems......
Guest Bro Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 I'm having trouble installing on my C500 (had this same h/screen on my e200) , I've installed the .xml to /storage/home but when i select all i get is "no home screen layout can be found, install a valid homescreen layout and select it... blah blah.." Any Ideas? thanks in advance. Bro

Have you checked that you have the correct JPG file referred in the XML file on the phone?
Guest goe602 Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 is it possible to post those backgrounds without the icons and lines? they are totally awesome... thanks
Guest rekall Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 For those who have asked here is my background and XML file. Bear in mind I have removed the missed call plugin as I dont use it and to make room for the all day plugin. Credit where its due to the original author AdrianFRST - sweet ^_^ Enjoy.bliss.jpgppc2003_bliss.home.zip
Guest rekall Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 I didnt have the original JPG I used for my background  so made another. Found most of these wallpapers here http://www.wstaylor.net/winLH.htmbliss_withouticons.jpg
Guest roma0803 Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 I know, it's an old thread. But I was wondering if people continued developing this neat homescreen. I'm using it with a few minor modifications. I'm an absolute n00b with xml editing since I just entered the Smartphone community a few weeks ago. So I was hoping to find some more modifications based on this theme. cheers. 8)
