Guest pradaboy Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 I'm getting mine today (if everything works out allright) and i was wondering what to do first? This is my first smartphone and except for the fact that I can surf/mail and do whatever I like I dunno what to do with it first! Any important apps to install first? I'm thinking it's usefull to buy a cardreader for the PC so I can throw some mp3's on a SD card :) common' ppl, throw me some ideas!
Guest np27np27 Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 First thing to do is get hold of alphaflux.cab to decert your phone (unlock phone to install un-certified software). And then to get SmartExplorer software so you can navigate within your phone. Just use the search facility on this forum to find these files. And you dont need a card reader for the phone. You get Activesync with the phone that allows you to transfer files directly from the PC to your SD card via the supplied USB cable! :) Then go to http://www.airfagev.com/ and http://coolsmartphone.com/ And install away! :D
Guest goinnuts Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 np27np27 is right you dont need a card reader, but if your files are going to be bigger than 10mb then a card reader is recomended as thry are much quicker as no conversion takes place.
Guest r.dubbelman Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Welcome to the MPX200! :) I think you will like it!. About the comment of np27np27 about the decert: I think your MPX200 doesn't need it, as it appears none of the MPX200's in the Netherlands are software locked. I know mine isn't (Orange network, bought it at Belcompany). And as for tips.... install some nice software. Take a tour at handango's to see some great apps and games for the MPX. This is the URL for the MPX200 software: http://www.handango.com/PlatformSoftwareSe...or%20Smartphone . You can also visit/become a member of the Dutch smartphone-club: http://www.smartphone-club.nl/ Some useful tips over there also.
Guest pradaboy Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 WOOOHOOOO! I got it, finally :) it's sooooo sweet! thnx 4 the tips guys! the synch cable idea is great! Now I can wait with buying a cardreader for a while LOL I wonder, does the Moto charge when the usb cable is in the pc??? The decert is not necessary, my Moto is not locked so I can do whatever I want (woohoo!) know let's see which apps to throw on the thing
Guest pradaboy Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 I cannot find a download link for the smartexplorer, can any1 help out?? btw I think it's ridiculous that there are no headsets delivered with the Moto... normal ones don't work but they don't give you one that does... plus the shops here don't have any of them on stock... how should I listen to mp3's?
