Guest Disco Stu Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 There may be another way, but if you haven't put much of your own info / programs / games onto the phone, why not do the 1.6 ROM upgrade and clear the whole thing to factory settings :?: I'd always want to start off with a totally clean machine - you never know what else might be lurking
Guest swartzy Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 but i live in ireland and the phone is unlocked and app unlocked if i run the rom will the phone turn back to be locked? as you can prob guess im a newbie!!
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Yes it will be application locked, I'm not sure but I don't think it affects the SIM. Is there a problem with unlocking using the OTA method from Ireland ? There's plenty of threads up here to help you. I'm sure you won't be the only Irish resident to have asked :)
Guest scott2eyes Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Judging from the SIM card logo, it sounds like the contacts are on the SIM, rather than on the phone itself. Is there a SIM manager program on the phone? If so, then try using that.
Guest swartzy Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 no only my sim card is in the phone with my contacts on them but there all in the sim manager. in the contacts list are all the previous owners no.s with a pic of a sim card beside them and they are not in the sim manager and i cant delete them in contacts because the delete option is sahded out there must be a way without hard reseting some help thanx
Guest scott2eyes Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 If they aren't showing up in the SIM manager, then it sounds like the phone must somehow be remembering what was on the old SIM card... Can you go into the contacts and open them up?
Guest swartzy Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 got it sorted but i had to do a hard reset but it worked
