Guest tinus Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Does anyone know if there's software available to scan for (and partner with) nearby BT devices (like there is on a PPC for instance)?
Guest sleepnow75 Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 The SPV E200 can do it, heres how: 1. settings > bluetooth 2. change bluetooth settings to On and then select Done. 3. go back into settings > bluetooth 4. select menu and then Bonded Devices 5. then select menu and then choose new. You will get a screen that says "Discovered Devices" and when it says that its actually searching for new bluetooth devices! So be patient, and usually within about 30 seconds - you'll either get a list of whatever bluetooth device is around, or a "No devices found." message if nothing is around. Expirement at work or on the train. You can't just connect to someone elses device though (how fun would that be!) without setting up a PIN on both devices - at least from what I've seen, but they will show up in your list. If anyone knows a way around the PIN thing, please let me know so that I can send psychopathic "I'm wathing you" messages to unsuspecting, bluetooth device toting strangers on the train  .
Guest fitz Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 You can pair (or bond) with another handset or headset, but unforturnity you can't send files i.e ringtones, photo, videos etc via bluetooth (unlike what it actually says in the manual!) You can send via Infra-red with Smart-Explorer though.
Guest deepak Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 smart explorer now supports bluetooth ....
Guest blewer Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 Now you can just select to beam a file via bluetooth and it will search for a device. Was playing some experimental tricks on people at work the other day
Guest James Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 there are ways to connect to other bluetooth devices without them knowing... one called a snarf attack and one a backdoor attack. dont think you can do them from a e200 yet  Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest ultimasnake Posted February 9, 2004 Report Posted February 9, 2004 most devices have a default pin of 0000  :D
