yeh baby! finally joined the club of MPX200 owners! And I love it! Man is this a sweet phone or what?

now I have a few problems, maybe you ppl can help me out...

1. When I plug the USB in the PC it starts charging right away, can I set this feature off???

2. When i plug the USB in NOTHING happens! I thought I'd might throw some mp3's on it or something but I can't seem to get a connection to the PC. Maybe the CD that came with it has some drivers on it or something??? What's on the CD???

3. No headset was delivered with the package... was it the same with you??? I think it's kinda strange if they make a abnormal headphone jack which takes nothing else but Motorola Headsets and then don't deliver any with the package! No stores here have it in stock either so how am I gonna listen to any music now?

ehm... that's it for now, thnx for the help in advance!

1. It happens to mine as well, but I don't know how to switch it off either. I don't want it to charge everytime I do a quick 2 minute sync.

2. Try another USB port. The CD does contain the installation appz so it's best to run that anyway. :)

3. Here in the UK, Orange supply both the headset and the cradle which is good considering the phone is FREE. :D Hope you manage to get one. They look really nice but are a little uncomfortable imo.

You could always try and sync via IR if you can. Thats the way I do it.

I'm also a UK user and mine came with the desktop charger and headphones.

Cheers

Not that I know of... but why would you want to?

Yep- I did the same thing. The CD has a program on it called ActiveSync, which you need to make the connection. Alternatively (if, for example, your CD drive is broken...) you can download it from Microsoft.

Sounds odd- mine came with a stereo hands free kit. Maybe the standard package in the Netherlands is different, but I wouldn't have thought so... I guess the best bet would probably be to speak to the place you bought it.

(I suppose you'd have to make do with the battery-munching speaker in the meantime!)

Yep, no headphones in the package in the Netherlands. We did get a case/holster though.

About the headphones...to me that's a problem too. On the Dutch site of Motorola you can see lots of accessoires of the MPX200, but non of them seem to be available in the Netherlands. I am interested in the headphones with internal radio (FM100). I'm now trying to buy it in Germany. :? http://www.handynow.com/index.php?cPath=22...4b19be75f962c1a

Another way to listen to MP3's is using your own walkman-headphones. Standard headphones are 3.5 mm. Motorola uses 2.5 mm. Some electronica-shops sell adapters for 2.5mm to 3.5 mm. So I'm told anyway, haven't tried it myself.

it can't be any good for the battery to get a 1 minute charge everytime you wanna sync it fast. I was always told to let the battery run empty and then charge it, otherwise you screw the capacity everytime.

thnx about the sync cd tip... thought the cd include a backup of SP2002 and outlook LOL

r.dubbelman>>>

did u see the case? LOL it's ugly as hell!

I think it's ridiculous they don't include it and you can't buy it anywhere... first flaw for Moto :x

Wouldn't have thought it was good for the battery to have it charge for such a short time. i.e. when you just wanna install one app or sync some emails when there is still battery on the phone.

:) My thoughts exactly.

Hi!!! Another Dutch user here  ... with some problems..

I got my MpX200 with T-mobile (300 and a GPRS active abo)

Does anybody know the internet settings for GPRS? I can WAP to WAP-pages, but some pages are too big to send back of can not be found...

T-mobile doesn´t know.... Motorola doesn´t know... phone seems to be too new :?

Anybody of you know the correct settings?

Another thing... whenever I make/receive a phonecall and I want to hang up, I close the phonne to hang up... I always hear this loud high beeeeeeeeeeeeep (the person on the other line also hears that).. very anoying... does anybody know how to get rid of this?

Thanks in advance guys....

as far as the T-Mobile GPRS considered I dunno how to solve it. @Orange I just downloaded the GPRS settings from HelloMoto.com and called orange to activate Orange World/Share.

For the hanging up beep, just use the "red phone" button on your keypad, never get anything strange when just hanging up with it.

it is not good to charge your battery for a quick 2 mins but it is worse for a LI ION battery to be let to run dry all the time--it is better to keep them topped up. So if your at your computer just pop the phone in the cradle and keep it on charge. People often make this mistake comparing them to NIMH batterys which like to be totally discharged before being recharged again.
