Guest nytehawk2002 Posted January 17, 2004 Report Posted January 17, 2004 Recently I've had a few problems with ringtones stored on the SD card would suddenly stop working. They would either play all garbled up, or they would just give the "Beep" like they were bad tones. All of a sudden, none of the programs on the SD Card worked, they all came up as invalid Win32 Apps. So I rebooted my phone, and everything worked fine. About an hour later it happened again. So I guess I'm asking, which is more likely? Bad SD Card or bad contacts on the phone?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 Hard one to decide really unless you have a spare card to use and see if the problem moves onto the second card. rather than rebooting try popping the card out then in again and see if that helps, if it works then it could be more a connection problem rather than a card problem.
Guest nytehawk2002 Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 Nope.. the unit has to be powered off. I also discovered that if you browse the card with SmartExplorer when this happens, the folders exist but the files are missing. However, rebooting brings it all back.
Guest petermerritt Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 Hi, I get problems with my SD card often. I delelted my old mp3 files one day and copied some new ones on for the next day... I used it the next day and my new ones were gone and the ones I'd delteed were back.. I get lots of wierd things.. But re-inserting the SD card seems to solve the problem... I'm using the 1.6 rom Peter
Guest nytehawk2002 Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 I've now tried this with 2 different SD Cards. Including the 8MB Orange Card it came with. The unit is intermittantly losing connection with the SD card slot. No hope for repair on this thing here in the U.S. so I guess I live with it untill I can get a MPX200 or a E200 on E-Bay.
