Guest MECX Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 i wouldent wait for the MPX220 as when thats out something else with be on the horizon and so on. my contract is up--hehe just realised tomorrow--so i think im gonna go get me a FREE MPX200 on monday woo. dont fancy the E200 with the various bugs---never had a flip phone either might as well give it a try  (oh and MPX220 is meant to be out in march but i wouldent expect it till may/aprill time myself)
Guest Brody Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 You could always try winning the MoDaCo and MS Mobile News competitions! Both have an MPx200 in their prizes! MoDaCo competition MS Mobile News competition
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 You could try lol - but if you have luck as bad as mine I wouldnt bother  I was busy writing out reasons why you should get the E-200 over the P900 but discovered this thread here, [Non-Smartphone Devices All I'd have to say is leave the MPx200 out for now and concentrate on the others. Its down to taste and what works best for you. :D A P900 = PDA with phone functionality. A E-200 = Phone with PDA functionality.
Guest davo141 Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 i have both p900 and e200. i always use the e200 though, as the p900 is too bulky. the p900 has superior speed, camera and sou nd quality. it also stands out more then the e200. another problem with the p900 is the fact that it only supports memroy stick duo, made by sony, which is very expensive for its size! i have both 16mb, and 32mb cards, and wont be buying anymore. i recommend out of these two phones the e200. just because its better for everyday use. i cant comment on the mpx200
Guest john.-h Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 thanks for replies i think sony is out now its free mpx or 100 pounds for e200 now
Guest neilg Posted January 19, 2004 Report Posted January 19, 2004 its a tough one and down to personal preference I think. I was so impressed with the original SPV when it came out and I still use my a lot. I really wanted bluetooth but I have so far held off of getting the e200 as it seems that the BT implementation is not that clever (I have tried one for a couple of days). I have always hated stylus-based input but I was lucky enough to get a P900 from Orange for zilch. I have a 128 meg MS duo from amazon which is still large enough for a bunch of music, fullscreen vids and apps and although it has bugs and is not perfect the p900 is a very good PDA/Phone. i got a screen protector for it and the jog dial is great for using it just as a phone with the occasional grubby fingerprint on the screen too. I would love to go back to the E200 or one of its sucessors sometime soon but for the moment the p900 and SPV (original) combo is working out just fine.
Guest davo141 Posted January 19, 2004 Report Posted January 19, 2004 you will find some things with the p900..but also some really cool things aswell annoying things include - lack on wma support.. only supports mp3, and mp3 files are much larger then wma files memory stick duo is very expensive, and you'll find that you need more space all the time strange keyboard, it just doesn't feel right, you probably wont understand what i mean until you have to use it constantly bulkiness of the phone, too big to hold and carry in your pocket great things - bluetooth is great, send receive files function built into the OS video cam is great for the size jotter pad, great fun drawing pics, and copy pics from the camera to edit. not many colours to choose though the bluetooth is 'ok' in the e200.. binarys are creating a new version of smart explorer with support for sending and receiving files over bluetooth!! so you should of waited for that to be released. i can receive files from my p900 over bluetooth. i will never go back to thep900. and am planning on selling for a nokia 6220.
Guest pradaboy Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 I would go for the P900 for sure! I got the Moto coz the SE was €300 extra :? but I'm not that happy with it
Guest peekie Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 the newer motorola is as far as i can see ready for shipment but the company have a big problem with so many units in the shops by releasing the phone it will kill the sales of the older model, whos going to want an old version when you can have a phone which had everything the 200 should have had . its a bit like the E100 and E200 story. there will not be an upgrade from 2002 to 2003 with this new phone on the horizon. if your not sure which smartphone to get then wait as there are alot of new makes and models on the way.FINALLY A REAL CHOICE HAS COME
Guest kjk Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 there was a big bug with p800 that if memory in p800 was full it's reset self and get back orignal setting and you lose every thing you have on phone think if you got a big mail ang wipsss you lose every think on phone I am not sure that they have fix that in p900 check that before you buy a p900
Guest davo141 Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 my brother has run out of memory several times, but the phone hasn't reset, so i'm glad that they sorted that bug! and thats a pretty bad bug aswell!!
