MPX200 ringtone too quiet, volume increases

hi, i've checked the basic stuff.

ring volume is set to loud.

ring type is set to ring (not increasing.)

i've selected correct profile.

here's the funny bit: the ringtone stays quiet but as soon as i hang up the other phone i'm using to call, the mpx200 ringtone increases to max volume for half a second before it recognises the other phone has hung up and stops ringing.

any ideas? i have installed Changer Sonneries and am using ringtones from my mmc card, but even trying the original ringtones (Alarm 1) it still does it.

text message alert volume is ok.

oh, and i just realised it only does it when the phone is open. when the phone is closed its as loud as you like.

still unsure why it suddenly increases in volume when i hang up the other phone???

The ring volume is meant to be lower when the phone is open and it increases when called; this is to stop you getting a 'blast' if holding it close to your ear. It has nothing to do with hanging up the other phone. It increases of its own accord!
