[B]My phone freezes on start up and can't hard rest spv e200

Hi all,

My phone won't turn on. It powers up as far as the 'Windows mobile' screen and then just stays there and I have to remove my battery to turn it off.

I must have installed something the phone doesn't like.

I've tried to do a hard reset by holding the record button down and powering up. I then get a screen that says 'press any key to enter bootloader'. What ever I press (including holding the action button) it goes to the 'canary screen (red, green and blue screen saying smart phone v1.03 doc). I can then do nothing but remove my battery.

HELP... please

hi

i just recently had the exact same problem. there are two things that i discovered. the har reset is achieved with practice, when u reach the press any key button for bootlaoder you must prss and hold down the action key (little mouse thing) do not let go.

However the way i fixed my phone was letting it go to canary screen and placing it in its cradle then downloading the latest rom (1.6) from orange website. it will update when in canary screen so no problem, just follow on scren instructions. it will wipe your phone though apart from what is on your sd card so make sure you are backed up. obvioulsy all your contacts should be in outlook anyway and any tones or pics should be backed up on pc (unless you dont do back ups of data)

When you have done the update it will take a while to reboot your phone (like it is still freezing) but dont worry just leave it for a while and all will be fine)

Tried it folkes and it doesn't work.

Must only work with e100 not the 200 unless anyone can tell me otherwise.

The problem may be that it's very easy to press down,up,left or right on the joystick and if this is the case you will go to the Red, green, blue screen. Try again and make sure you press action key in (be carefull) i'm sure this will work :lol:

Hi Guys,

I too have been experiencing this problem also. The solution looks like it will work but I wanted to know whether there is anyway I can access the data on the phone before I update the rom.

It's just that I would like to restore my messages!

Hard Reset DEFINATELY works with the e200, trust me!
