Guest cheekymonkey Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 Like you all I loved the shiny-newness of my mpx, but after a couple of months in my pocket prior to getting my Krussell case it has been very slightly scratched all over. I know there is stuff you can get for CDs, so is there something you can get that can kinda fill in the scratches on mobile cases / screen? TIA guys.
Guest mcwarre Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 Cheeky, Try Displex it works a treat. Search on this site for reviews on it!
Guest shadamehr Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 Brasso/Duraglit (the WADDING type) polish, can sometimes do the same job, as it's simply wearing away the layer of the screen in the same way as Displex does (see the link). Use at own risk however!
Guest ramsen Posted January 25, 2004 Report Posted January 25, 2004 I use Maguire's #17 professional plastic polish, and a cutdown Fellowes PDA screen protector to put on afterwards. The standard procedure to apply the screen protectors, no matter how careful you are, leaves tiny unsightly bubbles. What I found to work perfectly is to put a few drops of windex on the screen, put the protector on over that (you can then slide it around easily until it dries) and in an hour or so it's on tight, looking good and protecting your original screen - you get 12 screens per pack so if one gets scratched, peel it off, toss it and add another one. Use the old one as a template for cutting a new one.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 25, 2004 Report Posted January 25, 2004 With things like Displex be careful as some members have ruined their screens trying to remove scratches.
Guest cheekymonkey Posted January 25, 2004 Report Posted January 25, 2004 a few drops of windex on the screen That's a great suggestion mate, I've wasted many a protector trying to apply with small bubbles ( it has to be oh, so perfect  ) I'll do that from now on, many thanks for passing that on.
