Guest Baker0 Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 All Has any one had a problem recording video? after about 10 seconds of filming it hangs the picture but still records the sounds. Ive tried loads of different settings and ive got over 20mb free on storage card and 10mb on phone. Any help would be great Cheers Baker0
Guest peekie Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 i found if you use the camera and video function it better to do it from a freshly started spv and it works although no way like the real thing,if i play a game then i get the same problems as baker0, must be a software problem maybe in the upcoming orange update
Guest Baker0 Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 sorted now thanks , it was auto mode which buggered it:)
Guest DancingMatt Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 So it does work for longer than 10 seconds? This bug had been putting me off buying one. What do you mean "auto mode"? Cheers DM
Guest Baker0 Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 Right mate. It works fine in all the modes except dim mode, thats when it crashes. If you have it in auto mode and its dark it switches to dim mode which crashes:) cheers Baker0
Guest DancingMatt Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 Oh... Thanks. Like much of the original SPV then, another bug that can be "avoided" and lived with... not good enough really though is it? There's still plenty of old other bugs putting me off upgrading to it... T9 still forgets new words? Undelivered SMSs go into sent mail and have to be "forwarded"? (That's true, isn't it?) and I gather SD cards drain the battery?? I know it's got lots of features, but I've still got my SPV because I got used to its flaws. I would definitely miss the Smartphone things like the Calendar and Contacts book and mobile IE (except for the massively laggy Go To option where it's unbearably slow to enter an address argh) if I didn't get a Smartphone - but a year later I expect to have a phone without flaws I have to put up with... Does it still take multiple attempts to get it to turn on without a full charge? Baker0 (or anyone else) I'd appreciate knowing: is it really worth the bother? Is there anything they did fix? Cheers DM
Guest new_user_smartphone Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 Hello, I can't seem to record any sound with the video even though the setting are to record sound?? The little red dot flashes next to the Mic icon when its recording video. Does anyone have any idea's on this? I do have IA Camera program I bought for the E100, should I try installing that on the 200 maybe?
Guest v1nn1e Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 Maybe your volume is down. the sound is being recorded, but when you play back, the volume is low. Play the file then turn up the volume on the side of the phone. Just a thought, maybe your volume is up, i don't know.
Guest new_user_smartphone Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 Just tried but made no difference but now think I have found out why, it seems its doesn't playback what you have just recorded with sound, when I go back and open it from the multimedia Album, it then plays with sound. Strange!! Thanks for the help anyway.
Guest frazzel Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 i SUFFERED THAT ON MY SPV E200, ILL SEE WHAT MY SECOND VERSION IS LIKE?
Guest unclelimey Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 my video works fine, i recorded over 40 seconds of footage with no probs and sound was ok too
Guest bounty Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 I'm having trouble replaying captured video on my PC - I copy the file across and it appears to do whatever conversion is needed, but when I open it in Media Player, I hear the first .5 sec of sound, but no video. The file size appears correct. Is there any particular way to play back captured video on a PC?
Guest Pondrew Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 There's still plenty of old other bugs putting me off upgrading to it... Undelivered SMSs go into sent mail and have to be "forwarded"? (That's true, isn't it?) That was a bug that really annoyed me on my SPV but I'm pleased to say that isn't the case on the E200. If an SMS ever fails to be sent it doesn't go into sent items, instead going to the Drafts folder where you can try and resend whenever. This way you know that if an SMS appears in Sent Items that it really was sent! Laters...
Guest DancingMatt Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 Thanks Pondrew. Do you still have to delete all the header stuff when you forward/resend the SMS? It's treated like an email on the original SPV, stupid phone...
Guest Pondrew Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 No, when it fails to send it goes straight into drafts so when you go in it's simply a matter of opening the message & clicking send. Two clicks. It's one area where they'd obviously listened to criticism of the original. Now if we can only get them to extend the battery life...
Guest DancingMatt Posted February 9, 2004 Report Posted February 9, 2004 Cheers Pondrew! My E200 has just been delivered so I'll look fwd to seeing what else has improved once it's charged!! DM
