Guest agent.m Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 Hi since saturday i have no network service on my spv. I phoned 02 who are my network provider and they told me to select my network by manual in the telephony settings. my phone now says selecting and has been like this for hours  . the only thing i can remember doing was switching my phone to silent in the cinema on friday night. I have tried using my other sim (orange) but that dont work either. can anyone help???
Guest squall Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 check radio isnt switched off by pressing the power button and changing the radio function to on / off as appropriate, if it still dont work change it back. The radio may be called aeroplane mode depending what software version is on your phone. if you went to switch to silent it would be an easy mistake to hit radio more by accident

I have tried using my other sim (orange) but that dont work either. can anyone help??? The being in the Cinema bit is perhaps part of the key - I suspect in the cinema, the phone had lost the network. I was shopping in the Metrocentre just yesterday, and my E200 happened to lose its signal while in the back of Boots. So the display said "Searching..." for ages and ages, and ages. Even a manual network search did nothing at all, even though of course by this time, my phone was in a SOLID coverage area back on the malls. Stating the obvious perhaps, but all I did was switch off and back on, and it registered the network again fine. The worrying thing in my case is that the E200 could not, for love nor money, re-aquire the network after losing it, without a switch off. This is the first time it has done this, but a terrible thing for it to suffer from if its going to become a regular bug...

Reminds me of our lass - she loses her Boots in the back of taxis... Don't ask - too long a story. And here's hoping my little part of the world has made you feel welcome mate.
Guest agent.m Posted January 25, 2004 Report Posted January 25, 2004 been told by orange that all reception in my area have been down for over a week and closest should be up tomorrow. whether its the network that is the problem we will find out at 4.

I decided this morning to update the phone to the latest rom version. and the network came back on.
