downgrade bootloader failed

i am having a 1.6 orange rom now..

and i want to go back to 1.5 qtek rom...

i heard i need to downgrade the bl to 0.98 or something first in order to install the 1.5 qtek rom.

So i downloaded the 0.98 bl and used winhex to write it to the sd card...

but then why my phone seems just to ignore my card when i boot up to canary screen?

is it correct that after writng the bl to the sd card using winhex..the card cannot be read by the computer? it asks me to format the card when i try to see what is in the card after the writing.

can someone help me here...thanks

the 1.6 update (and associated bootloader). does not have the load from sdcard options of previous versions.

(probably an attempt to stop people downgrading to do things like simunlocking)

Been there tried that, not sure if its ok to post it here so drop me a PM and I'll send you my how-to on downgrading from Orange 1.6 to i-Mate 1.50.8.6 it should work for the Qtek too.

I think its fine to post that - been plenty of posts in the past.

Unlocking phones is perfectly legitimate. The operators want to make it tricky, but they have no legal reason to stop anyone (or stop you posting how to do it here) Downgradeing the bootloader is simply a means to an end, and as rom versions are published by the manufactuers/operators for you to download theres no copyright wory there either.

How to Downgrade from Orange 1.6 to i-Mate 1.5

Warning Downgrade at your own RISK!

First you’ll need to download the Orange 1.50.3.0 and i-Mate 1.50.8.6 upgrade files.

Now you might be asking yourself why are we downgrading to Orange 1.5 first?

Why because we need the older bootloader!

As with any upgrade I suggest you start with a clean device (hard reset it if need be).

The Orange 1.50.3.0 upgrade can be found here:

The i-Mate 1.50.8.6 upgrade can be found here:

Run the Orange 1.5 upgrade then cancel out, what this has done is created a C:Program FilesRUU

Folder.

Unzip and run the i-Mate 1.5 upgrade then cancel out, what this has done is created a C:Program Filesi-Mate

Folder. Now use Windows Explorer to open this folder and rename NK.nbf to i-NK.nbf.

Now use Windows Explorer to open C:Program FilesRUU folder and cut & paste NK.nbf

Into your C:Program Filesi-Mate Folder.

Now use Windows Explorer to open C:Program FilesRUU_ORG_UK and cut & paste CaUpgradeUt.exe

Into your C:Program Filesi-Mate Folder.

Note if you’re doing this upgrade from another computer other than the one you graded to

Orange 1.6 with, you’ll need to download and run the Orange 1.6 upgrade to get the above folder.

Orange 1.6 upgrade can be found at:

Now boot your phone into bootloader mode aka the Canary screen and then connect it to your Desktop/Laptop and then run CaUpgradeUt.exe from the C:Program Filesi-Mate Folder.

After the upgrade finishes disconnect the phone from the Desktop/Laptop and remove the battery

For about 30 seconds then replace.

Now for good measures boot your phone normally and let it run its course to make sure it upgraded properly.

Note the first boot after the upgrade will be a long one a may take a while.

Now go back to the C:Program Filesi-Mate Folder and delete NK.nbf, then rename i-NK.nbf back

To NK.nbf.

Now boot your phone back into bootloader mode (aka the Canary screen) and then connect it to your Desktop/Laptop and rerun CaUpgradeUt.exe from the C:Program Filesi-Mate Folder.

After the upgrade finishes disconnect the phone from the Desktop/Laptop and remove the battery for

about 30 seconds then replace.

Upgrade complete, now turn on your phone and let it boot normally.

Note the first boot after the upgrade will be a long one a may take a while.

does not work now my foon wil not start up it wil go to the orange screen and thats it hoe kan help me i cant update it it says error cant load rom plezzzzzz help me anyone??????
