Guest scott2eyes Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 One of the reasons I bought my MPx200 was for the music player- when I bike to work, I like to have music playing in one ear for the journey. This is great, except for when my phone occasionally reminds me that it is a phone- not a walkman. My ideal modifications would be; 1) The button on the HFK to play/pause the music While it's great having music when you're biking along, it's a bit awkward if someone asks you directions, or you want to have a loud "conversation" with a taxi driver who cut you up, or maybe a friendly conversation with a member of the constabulary... if you could just press the HFK button to stop the music (rather than stop and remove your gloves so that you could either take off your helmet and take the earpiece out, or get at your phone and press the buttons) it would be very useful. 2) Music isn't interupted by an incoming call. Not the actuall call (I don't think many people would want music in the background of a phone conversation) but simply the ringing. If I don't want to answer a call (which I usually don't- handsfree kits and wind noise don't go well together...) then I leave it ringing, but the music stops for the ringtone and doesn't start up again without getting the phone out. (Although, if Wish 1) were to come true, this one would be a nice feature, rather than eliminating an annoyance...) It seems that it must be possible, because if you have a reminder set, the music quietly continues to play in the background while the reminder sounds. I'd simply like the phone to do the same with the ringtone for an incoming call. 3) The button on the HFK to postpone or dismiss any reminders that go off. While I was pleased to discover this morning that the music doesn't stop when a reminder goes off, the novelty of having it playing quietly in the background quickly wore off when I realised that to make the reminder stop, I was going to have to pull over, take off my gloves and get my phone out to shut it up... If there's any way that I could possibly make any of these three ideas a reality, any advice would be greatly appreciated! Surely I can't be the only person who really wants their hands free when they're using their hands-free kit?
