loosing data connectivity when getting POP3 email

I have used my i600 to get email from my companies POP3 server. It used to work great but recently it started to stall when I choose Send/Receive. If you look at the homescreen and see the Tx and Rx bars it connects for a second, then just sits there for about 30 seconds. After that the Tx and Rx grey out and then it will connect and get my email. this will take about a minute total before it starts to download any messages. I used a friend i600 and set it up for my email and it worked fine, no delays. I tried a hard reset and synced all my contacts back over and still have the same results. Any suggestions?
