Guest ultimasnake Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 Hey just wanted to let you guys know Pocket music 1.1 is released.. and it works great with the e200.... and they say they improved playback for the e100 too i have an e200 and it finally works :D
Guest Speedy Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 Can anyone confirm enhanced playback? The previous version stunk big time!!
Guest peekie Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 shame it costs so much the only question i have is why do smartphone owners pay and pocket pc people get it for free :-({|= :-({|=
Guest jamby Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 shame it costs so much the only question i have is why do smartphone owners pay and pocket pc people get it for free :-({|= :-({|= I agree!!! They should give it to us for free!!!
Guest futaris Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 I have tested it on my Qtek 7070 (SPV e100) and it seems to run a lot better than v1.0 did. A lot less stuttering, and it seems to use a little less CPU.
Guest nikjensie Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 I have tried it on my Qtek 7070 as well, and I'm really sorry to say that it still stinks... The potential this program has... How come it can't play the tracks as well as Media Player??? I mean, the technology is already there, use it, implement the extra features and be done with it! Nik
Guest casperr Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 well then i guess the makers of pocketpc cant sort it out or the cpu of e100 is just really slow since e200 users can use it with no problems
Guest ruhande Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 I have tested it on my Qtek 7070 and I haven't noticed any stuttering so far. It now works really great. Thanks to the developers that have taken the problems with v1.0 seriously!
Guest ultimasnake Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 Still i have to agree with peekie , the smartphone version looks less special , has less functions(i guess) etc etc.. it might just be a pocketpc port...... and it is rather expensive.... if only i knew how to play music in Embedded c++
Guest sleepnow75 Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 I've been looking forward to this upgrade, but it seems to have kept track of when I last installed the "E200 unfriendly" 1.0 demo which was soon uninstalled within minutes, so I can't see if this is any better because it says it has expired. nice. I have no intention of buying this without trying it first. I've inquired about this and also why the PPC version (more features) is free, whilst the Smartphone version (less features) is over priced. Maybe its just me, but surely he's got this backwards?!
Guest peekie Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 good news if you install the old free version of pocket music ver 0.98 and register it FOR FREE you will then be greeted by this version has expired .NOW close the prog ( you have no choice ) now install the new 1.1 version on your spv the phone may reboot afterwards then when you start the prog you have a fully working version with a trial of for 76665059 days have moved and checked the spv 1 year ahead and pocket music still works NICE HEH
Guest cyrilthefish Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 looks great so far! :D just sucessfully played a 5min 96k ogg file without skipping, the previous version could only cope with 64k ogg files without skipping... just re-encoding a 74min mp3 into a 96k ogg file, that'll be the real test of fire for it (though later, as it'll take 35mins to encode :( ) looks like the money i paid for the full version might actually be worth it now :( EDIT: my phone is a 1.6 ROM E100 if anyone is wondering
Guest jamby Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 I'll try it peekie... but ... i just formatted my phone... and if i'm not mistaken...u can't use your old serial bec the code keeps on changin...right?? If that's the case then can i just install .98 and install 1.1 (without registering first .98) and still get the 76665059 days???
Guest rintys5 Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 I've had perfect playback since installing v1.1. Used to stutter all the time before on my E100.
Guest peekie Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 just go to the free register page that is displayed on the screen which is http://www.pocketmind.com/spreg.htm there just fill in the code needed to get the this version has expired and install the new one . ive done many tests with dates and it will work in 5 years time check on many of the spv websites that have freeware if you dont have the old version. i now have 76665058 days left ( 1 day on from my posting i bet that free reg site will go quick if they see what is going on but at the moment its legal as you have registered a free version and installed the a demo version which is a free download ( which works the same as a registerd version ) only down side is the screen evry 1st start up where you can insert the serial number or continue the trial . i will be long gone and my spv will be a collecters item by the time the trial ends,
Guest ultimasnake Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 peekie what a great flaw...
Guest greenwood Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 Yeah, Peekie is right, I've discovered this "free registration" few days ago too.... Do you know if the device id that the free beta version generates will be the same after new installation? Because i've got already my code
Guest peekie Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 tryed the code its too short the free one gives you a 3 block code iam not sure what the new one is as if i type in the code i get error, but hey who needs the code as getting that register or continue option may be a pain but it saves an overexpensive 19.95 + dont forget the tax on top ,i myself dont mind that screen to save that money maybe the player will one day become free who knows WORK OUT HOW MANY YEARS IT IS FOR FREE
