Guest Panja Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 Another question: Is it possible to store all my contact on my SD card instead of the phone memory...? If its possible please explain how... tnx
Guest madu Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 AFAIK possible, but may involve a number of complications. Just as calendar, tasks, sms, and other, contacts are stored in a database file in IPSM (mxip_*.vol, cemail.vol) The operation is likely to involve some REGistry changes and you have to be very careful since this process might softRESET your phone. http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...itdb+vol+volume
Guest madu Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 And, as Awarner says: (so make sure you read ALL comments) If you keep the cemail.vol location on the card and then remove your card you will not be able to revieve any SMS messages, also on reinserting the card the cemail.vol may stop working if the reg flags it up as SD being incorrect. EDIT if you remove the storage card you would not be able to open the Inbox so you could not send sms either. Also if the battery level drops below 10% the phone stops reading the card, if this happens any messages you recieve will be lost forever Finaly apps like IA Spacemaker and SMS tools will stop working as they are hard coded to look in the IPSM for the cemail.vol directory. and apparently IA caller ID stops working as well. Oh and SMS counter should stop working as well.
Guest Panja Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 thanks for the help madu! Usefull stuff. cheers
