Guest solo Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 I switch on my SPV this morning and it looks as if all my customisations have been reset. When the SPV was booting up, I did not get the usual sun rise background - instead the SPV was showing a couple of pages displaying messages such as "Checking IPSM", etc. When the SPV compeleted the start up, my custom background was replaced with the caravan picture, my chosen colour (orange) was set to black, the silent keypress was turned back to a beep and my email setting are now blank. I think you get the idea now, everything seems to have been reset! Anyone else experience something like this? Any ideas why this would happen? Thanks Solo
Guest Crispy Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 Sometimes SPVs get a funny urge to reset themselves for no aparent reason ... I have experienced it several times when I had the 1.37 software ... I haven't seen it yet with the 1.64 software ... What version are u using?
Guest broeren79 Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 sometimes, when your battery runs really low, this can happen too. nothing much you can do against it, just keep your battery on a normal level, don't try to drain it!
Guest goinnuts Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 coincidence or conspirecey he he. my mpx did exact same thing, the ipsm was in tact but no home screen or decert!
Guest solo Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 Running 1.6 update Battery wasn't low - three bars when I switched it off last night. Funny you should mention the loss of decert - I forgot to check that - no decert now - bugger... Very annoyed that this has happened - I have had my SPV for over a year now and haven't had a single problem in that time. Solo

Guest skanna Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 Happened to me about 6 months ago, and yes its a pain in the back side. Took ages to get the phone back to normal. Its probably got something to do with the registry and installing a program that the phone didnt like. On my phone I think it was the DivX player, which kept making the phone lock up. I didnt install it after it reset. I also stopped turning the phone off at night. Just a quick on/off now and then to free up some memory but I never leave the phone off anymore for more than 5 min. Do a search on the forum as you are not alone. My phone has been fine ever since and I'm not sure whether I should bother upgrading just yet
